Engine Camshaft Tensioning Locking Alignment Timing Tool Kit

Lifesaver for 2014 Chevy Sonic 1.8 timing belt replacement. Everything seemed to work well. Be careful not to bump out the flat bar that goes behind the camshafts as it happened to me and had me worried about the alignment for a bit. Also, do not replace camshaft position sensors until after you confirm timing is correct and engine is running right. I made that mistake and it caused me unnecessary trouble.

Used it to hold the cams in position on my 1.8L Chevy Cruze while I changed out the cam phasers and timing belt. Have also used one of the other brackets to hold the flywheel still while I torqued the flywheel bolts. No complaints. Is it high quality for a ton of use and abuse from a professional tech? Probably not, but if only need it for a few uses, for the price, its worth it.

This tool was easy to use and well worth the investment for replacing the timing belt on my cruze. Trying to get the new belt on was an ordeal without it, easy-peazy with it.

Line is printed incorrectly on the tool vs the OE tool. Works well, but it took me a while tk figure out what was going on.

Kit came with all I needed to set timing. Parts are good quality. I seen one review about this product before I purchased it stating that the cam gear retainers had to be filed to install. Tight fitting. I too noticed it. I filed them to ease installing. But after I released the tensioner, those 2 pieces became looser. It is the old belt being stretched cause of it's age that changes the gear cogs to be off slightly. If you live up the Mark's, partially install the tool, then relax the tensioner while installing the other half of the tool. No filing is needed.

This is good enough, don't worry and get this one. I hear about then not firing right but mine for great with no effort or grinding. Maybe they changed it. It's super high quality for the price, you definitely don't need to waste money on the other more expensive ones.

Description states Chevy Cruze 09-11. It works for all the Chevy 1.8L motors as I have a '14 and it works fine. Not the most robust tools, but plenty for doing your own car a few times. Only negative is that I could see the camshaft locking, crankshaft locking and flywheel locking tools failing after many uses, but how many times are you going to rip apart your own vehicle?

Great tool, I had to buy it so I could replaced the timing belt on a Chevy sonic. Made my job easy to set it up and saved me time to complete the job. Highly recommended
