Great value
I needed a new rod for flipping stick baits, but can't afford the $300 to $400 price tag on the premium brands, so I rolled the dice on this one despite having been disappointed by similar products in the past and I'm glad I did. I put it through the ringer on three trips so far and it is held up fantastic. The action on it is great for flipping heavier stickbaits, and it has held up great to fish up to 50 pounds.I'm genuinely impressed with this. The rod blank seems top quality. The guides are about what you would expect at this price point, and the build QC is probably considerably lower than some of the really expensive brands, but so far it's worked great for me.

very good for price but flawed
7' MH Rod overviewPROS: Good backbone, decent tip sensitivity, sturdy blank, can pier flip fish up to 15lb without issue from my personal experience.CONS: the eyes out of the package have a black coating that will rub off onto your line (I did not notice a change in the lines quality and it has same breaking strength but did make the blue line more dark grayish). if you retrieve too fast the line will get wrapped around the hook holder but if you wrap some medical or electrical tape around it, it won't. besides that there are smaller quality issues but can all be mitigated easily.I do not believe that the cons I have listed outweigh the general quality and feel of this rod for its price.BACKSTORY AND CONCLUSIONS:I have had the 7' MH rod for almost two years now, and its held up well. it has a great backbone while still having tip sensitivity. this rod is not light but can pack a punch, I have caught large tarpon/ striper with it and pier flipped fish up to 16lb with no issues (I would feel comfortable going up to 20 with strong line). I believe the black coating came off the eyes from the heat when I was spooling a reel through the rod. I am not sure if it will come off while casting or fighting a fish. only rod I've found that comes close to this rod in price point is the ugly stick, which has better quality but is flimsier. I personally need/ prefer a stiffer rod which is why I love this rod despite its flaws.

Broke tip
I used this rod for the first time today, upon realing in the fish the tip broke about 6 inches down.. the fish was only about a 4 pound channel cat. I am very unhappy with this purchase. The rod looks very good an seems very sturdy but apparently not

Great value for a travel rod
Ordered this break down pole for a recent trip and for the money, worked great. Long enough to cast out into the surf but yet enough spine for bottom bouncing off the boat. Comes with a bag that we used as a "carry on" for our flights, no issues flying with it. Solid rod.

Very impressive and awesome fishing rods
I didn’t know what to expect when I bought this rod, but its ultimate test came when I fought and landed a 12 pound striped bass. The rod held up REALLY GOOD.The only issue is that the handle caps don’t appear to be fixed properly and I lost mine the first day of fishing in the ocean, but no big deal. I still give this rod 5 star rating. It casts very good.So please go ahead and buy it.

This rod has a really good backbone and is flexible at the tip
This is my second one. This rod has a really good backbone and is flexible at the tip. You'll feel a lot of tugs and nibbles without fear of losing a big one. Super light weight, so you don't feel like you're carrying a boat oar under your arm all day. I go on offshore charters and party boats with it. The 7' is very stiff as a spinner rod. Can handle large striped bass and tog/blackfish in my area, no problem. I interchange the 7' with a 40 spin reel and a Daiwa 50W baitcaster. My 6' rod is great for jigging black sea bass, porgies and blackfish. Was on a fishing trip where the guy I was with caught only one fish and broke his $200 St. Croix rod when he tried to hook set and went completely vertical. Rookie move. My rod caught 9 blackfish over 4lbs, and one 7lber and still lives to tell the tale! Gonna buy another one.
