Works good on N-scale train too
I am thinking of building a 4x2 Coffee Table N-scale layout. So this controller being able to operate with 8 AA batteries is nice. No cord in the way. Kato Track feeder connectors mate up to controller as well. In the video I posted I am using a old 12 volt, 500mA power brick. The controller manual says 10 to 12 volt 900 mA should be max. I did not have enough batteries for the test run. My little loco ran great. High speed was way faster than scale, so even my 500mA power brick was enough. The Power Brick had a 5.5x2.1 Barrel connector. Many people may have one laying around. Mine came from a old router. The unit also has 2 switches to power Track switching. I don't have any switches to test that out.

Nice unit, get 3rd party DC power supply
Love it. Works well with Marklin train. Build quality is good. For power supply suggest sourcing a good quality 10V 1A 5.5x2.1mm center positive unit rather than getting Rokuhan's, unless money is no object.

Great
was what I ordered

Great product
The plan for my layout involves adding another cab/controller eventually, and I was so pleased with the RC-02 unit in the Rokuhan G004-1 starter set that I decided to use the RC-03. I bought mine from Leadra/Tamami Hirota, JP via Amazon for $61.99 US. Not a bad price as far as power packs go. In the package: 1 RC-03 controller, 1 narrow feeder cable and the instructions. Rokuhan continues to use top notch packaging and printing, which may not seem worth noticing, but electronics are not generally known for their durability and shock resistance during transport. This is also the final chance for any manufacturer to make a good impression in their product's presentation. The RC-03 was well wrapped in plastic and secured inside its sealed box, with the additional parts stowed in the dead space blocking. All the printing on the package and instructions is in register, bright and professional looking. Instructions are printed in Japanese on one side, English on the other, are concise, clear and only a page long. This light, smooth unit measures ~6"x3 5/8"x1 3/4", has a gray plastic casing that feels solid if a bit large to the hand, and no allowance for mounting to a control panel. The controls include the basics: on/off, F/N/R, and a constant lighting system on the speed control dial. Two turnout switches are also integrated into the unit, and there's circuit breaker protection with indicator. There is one input for the adapter, one track power output color coded black, 2 track control outputs color coded clear white, 1 accessory output color coded bright white and a pair of snap-on sockets on one side to add switches. These can control more turnouts, power blocks or accessories. The power pack gets even bigger with each add on, but I like the plug-n-play, modular nature of the entire system very much. Like its little brother, the RC-03 runs on 8 AAA batteries or a 10V power adapter. Listed Input: AC 100V 50/60Hz 16VA. Listed Output: DC 10V 900mA. Controller Rated Power Outputs: Track feed DC 0-12V, max 900mA, Accessory DC 10V (battery 12V) max 300mA, Side hook DC 10V (battery 12V), max 300 mA, 900mA max total capacity. I use a Cazxooy AC/DC adapter I got from Amazon, and the RC-03 runs fine. It only needed one power connection to the track, as there was no flickering or slowing from any loco at any point. My AZL locomotives also ran well, and I was able to run 2 locos smoothly at once as I ran abbreviated loops. The RC-03 isn't perfect, so no 5 stars (4 1/2!), but I'm very, very happy with it, and highly recommend Rokuhan products in general. I see other reviewers had problems though, so just this once I'm adding video. Some notes about the test track in the video: the Type 500 Shinkansen 3 car basic set by Rokuhan and an SD-70M by AZL with MTL rolling stock are shown. They're running on a combination of Rokuhan track from the G004-1 starter set, plus Oval Track A, Siding Set B and six 25mm straight sections, in a dog bone pattern about 19"x50". The track has 2 power connection points, but only 1 is active until another becomes necessary. ATM the straight sections are temporarily fastened down, the curves are floating. All curves are 195mm radius.

Good Item
Works very well.

Decent controller
This controller works very well for Rokuhan locomotives but a majority of mine are AZL products and this will cause the controller to trip a circuit breaker. So if your locomotives are a variety like mine I would use something else but if you use all Rokuhan than you will probably have no issues.

Nice control pannel
Works ok. Good price .

Don’t work well with Märklin locomotives
Work but have poor low speed control with Märklin locomotives. Current limit trips out too easily. Returned them
