I found this book interesting and easy to read
I found this book interesting and easy to read, at times even exciting, but in the end not very useful. Moore spends a lot of time presenting straw men and knocking them down, which gets tedious. It also means the reader has to spend time sifting through all that theory to get to the few nuggets. This might be fine for an academic interested in theory, but if you're a public servant looking for useful guidance, you'll have to look elsewhere - you'll find some exciting ideas here, but not much advice on how to implement them. (As another reviewer said, it's not a "how-to" book.)

This book is a complete guide to public service quality and performance management. The author also provides a comprehensive view of the politica/philosophical implications of delivering public services in modern democracies.
