Great frame for a reasonable price
This was my first table/lap frame. When looking at options, I found many were very expensive, and I didn't want to spend 100s of dollars on something I had never used. I found this frame on Amazon, and decided to try it out based on the good ratings and reasonable price.I have enjoyed working on this frame every since I got it. It was easy to set up and to use. I like being able to use two hands to stitch, and I find all the adjustments to be very useful. I also like that the fabric does not have to be attached to the frame (it uses snap-on brackets to hold the fabric in place, like a Qsnap). The only draw backs I have found are: 1) it was a bit difficult for me to get an even tension on the fabric, but admit that's probably from lack of experience; and 2) you have to be very careful not to over-tighten the screws, or they will become striped and will loosen.I would definitely recommend this frame for first-time frame buyers, or for those looking for an additional frame at a reasonable price.

Sturdy but not obvious
I like the poplar wood. It holds the fabric well. It is easy to use. But not at all obvious how to use. If you are used to holding the piece in a circle frame then you find you flip from front to back all of the time. Flipping from front to back of this holder has you flipping this whole thing around. Finally, you figure out to rotate the frame around the pivot that does not tighten. Oh! Second, how do you reach from front to back? So mount the piece to the side. There are myriad items like this that you have to figure out with no instructions. Not a big thing but until you figure them out this holder is annoying and cumbersome. Something to remember.

Best Purchase EVER!!!!
Best purchase I have EVER made!! This frame does wonders with all the positions you can put it into and seriously helps reduce my back pain by SO much that I can now enjoy my favorite hobby again. Very sturdy wood to hold everything in place, the canvas stays in place where I never need to rearrange it until I am done with my project, and seems like ti will last many years to come. I would and already do recommend to everyone I know!! Best product EVER!!

RECORD TIME TO ASSEMBLE & BEGIN EMBROIDERY. . . .
10-stars if they were available! I have used scroll frames very little as just can't get a "grip" with my arthritic paws & not as comfortable as small hoops or oval embroidery hoops in the 4" x 9" arena. This went together very easily, LOVING the ease of being able to use knobs with the RA! I would highly recommend this style with the extra hinged leg that gives even more positions, including a "Z-Position that "spoke" to me immediately while adjusting, sitting on the couch! Now, that I have gotten it together in supersonic time --less than 10 minutes, & know that bolts go from the inside to the outside, it should go together even more quickly next time as will keep the 2 vertical legs attached at its "v" when I disassemble. Next: I can actually handle the snaps and love the fitted grove for the snap's lip to catch into. (I have trouble pulling the Q-snaps apart; these are definitely 10-stars.} I had been working on a small 8 x 10 embroidery project with mostly satin stitch when UPS arrived. In less than 20 minutes, the frame was assembled, AND the project was snapped onto the bars, and I had completed the next small flower--(project is all floss in satin stitch--a nemesis of a stitch for me), and fabric stayed taut. . . .WHOOOPEEEEE! Let's celebrate!! NOTE: I hesitated spending this much money, but no review had showed anything less than 3-stars, I earn Amazon gift rewards doing surveys, so no money out of my actual pocket budget. If you have to use pocket budget, it is well worth it. . . . I very highly recommend!

Better than a hoop
It is better than a hoop, for sure, but I find it needs a crossbar at the base because it is super wobbly. Also, the knobs at the back and bottom for the stand won't tighten enough for it to not move. When this came, assembly was easy minus the two bottom pieces. They weren't drilled out all the way. Personally, I thought this was going to be a better product than it is based on the reviews. I would have saved up for an actual stand instead.

A flimsy piece of junk.
What I liked: It's better than holding the bare canvas in my hand. What I didn't like:It's flimsy. None of the joints hold and there are so many of them. I felt like I was fighting the frame so much that it was very frustrating. Not relaxing at all.It does not hold the canvas taut. There were rough spots that kept catching on my sleeve.I got so frustrated with this frame that I replaced it within the month. What a waste of money! Buyer beware!

Don’t recommend, too wibbly and wobbly
Easy enough to assemble but very difficult to hold in place for working steadily. Extremely wobbly and hard to secure the frame to remain symmetrical. I had to use clamps on the side of the fabric to hold it tightly, the plastic clamps included don’t tighten the fabric well enough.

Wonderful!
I love this scroll frame and stand. It is sturdy and well made. I love the versatility of it, that I can use it with or without the stand, and adjust the size of the working area from 9 inches up to 12. For those with a more ample lap who are worried whether it will fit over yours, the inside measurement of the stand is 19 inches. It takes a little fiddling with it to figure out what works best for you, but once you do, just tighten it up (easy to do) and you're set. It was easy to put together, despite the mostly Russian (?) directions. The frame holds the fabric securely with only the clips. I highly recommend!
