So much better than poweheads, wifi tricky
Great for adding current to the whole tank. It is definitely worth the price. To everyone having wifi connection issues, the setup would not work with my mesh wifi. I can't disable my 5ghz. I grabbed a phone and turned on the hotspot/wifi sharing using the same SSID and password. Connected my tablet to the hotspot and used that 2.4ghz network for the initial setup. It was flawless. Then I simply turned off the hotspot and it connected to my home network. One last thing, watch the video and lubricate the shaft before using. All gyres need maintenance, start with preventative maintenance to prevent more troubles down the road.

Forget about trying to control this via WiFi
Ok, as the title says and others have reported, the wifi functionality is completely useless. I watched SEVERAL videos and it is impossible to use wifi to control it and that is all for the bad. If I was able to control it via the app I would have given it 5 stars. On to the good, this thing works and works EXTREMELY well. I went on a kick around the end of summer last year and replaced all of my Jebao wavemakers with Aquaillumination (AI) Nero and Orbits. Well so far I have had 2 Orbit 4s on my 125 gallon tank in the past 6 months and am about to need a 3rd!! I purchased the first one and second one was the warranty replacement for the first. Now the second one that AI sent me has failed and I need to contact AI for another replacement. It must unnerve AI when I tell them that while I wait on them to ship me a replacement I'll have to blow the dust off my MCP 120 and get it going. The MCP 120 is built like a tank. I actually use a pressure washer to clean the brown algae and other crap off of it and when I put it back in the tank it fires up with no issue. Now having experience with both AI's gear, which is ridiculously more expensive and Jebao's equivalents, I can say hands down that the actual hardware from Jebao is far superior to that of AI. Now if you're looking for a fancy app with, in my opinion, useless controls, then AI may be the right path for you. However, if you're looking for a bullet proof piece of hardware that runs, then look no further than the MCP 120.

Motherboard communication error since I plugged it in
It doesn’t work when it’s connected to app. And the manual controller doesn’t respond to different modes and runs and full blast and backwards it seems. How do you receive support for replacement controller? Purchased 06/2023

MCP-120 - Tricky wifi setup - great flow for the $$
I am a 20yr veteran of tech support and I had a very difficult time getting this connected to the mobile app. However, I finally figured out the magical steps to get it working flawlessly. Here's how to do it:1) You must have a dedicated 2.4ghz network with it's own unique name. Do not put 5ghz and 2.4 on the same name. You will need to connect this controller to the dedicated 2.4ghz network.2) Ensure your mobile device is connected to this 2.4ghz network.3) In the app, you must choose 'Add a Wi-Fi device' even though you are going to set the controller to 'Access Point' mode.4) Select 'Wave Pump'5) Ensure your current 2.4gzh network name is displayed and enter it's password.6) MOST IMPORTANT - on the next screen you must switch from 'Smart Network' to 'AP Network' tab.7) Put the controller in AP Network mode by turning it on and long pressing the network button until the logo is flashing with the AP indicator.8) Connect your phone to the new Jebao_WiFi-XXX network with password '123456789' then go back to the app and click Next.9) This should successfully connect your app to the controller! Your phone's wifi should be set back to the home 2.4ghz network and the controller should also be connected to the home network.I really like this gyre pump. It's very quiet and has very good flow! I would say it has double the flow of the Nero 5. The minimum flow is 30% which is still a lot and can move sand on the other side of my 4 foot tank. The CONS of this pump are:1) its mount allows it to rotate pretty easily. You can help fix it into place by using the included suction cup attached to the wire to fix the wire to the glass, holding the pump's rotation in place. You can still rotate each side of the pump individually.2) its big. The magnet spans the entire width of the pump which really holds it well. However, it blocks a lot of the view into the aquarium.

Good pump, bad controller.
The wifi module failed after less than 2 weeks. Default mode is full blast. It dislodged an anemone and chewed it into pieces last night. Not quite reliable....

No WiFi connection
Couldn’t get the WiFi to work. Tried every way the book offered. I even went to YouTube and still nothing. I have them paired “Master” and “Slave” but no WiFi.
