Wonderfully Sharp, With a Very Comfortable Weight and Balance
This cleaver is one of my favorite kitchen knives. The wide blade makes scooping up cut and chopped items very fast and easy to then move to the pan.The sharpness of the blade is almost unbelievable for the overall size. This cleaver is stainless steel, with a solid and comfortable handle, and and overall "heft," that makes you feel like you are a fancy chef, even if you're not. This cleaver is very easy to clean, and is attractive to look at on my magnetic knife strip.

Well made monster of a cleaver and a great value
This is an outstanding cleaver and an outstanding value. Very heavy duty and very effective for the purposes for which it was designed. As the product description states, it isn't for fine cutting, i.e., it isn't a knife for cutting vegetables or for carefully trimming meat. As such, it is heavy and a bit unwieldy for many cutting tasks. But do not forget: IT'S A CLEAVER.Some reviewers have commented on its sharpness. In thinking about whether or not it will meet your needs, consider its primary function: to cleave food containing bones. It's not a knife, per se, and shouldn't be thought of that way. That's why it isn't super sharp right out of the box. If it was thinner and sharper, it wouldn't be an effective cleaver because the thin, sharp edge would likely break when it contacted bone with a lot of momentum and mass behind it. (Read reviews for the thinner, sharper cleavers offered elsewhere on Amazon and you'll see what I mean.)For me, this is an excellent kitchen tool that excels at what it was intended to do and is offered at an outstanding price, making it an outstanding value. If you know how to use a cleaver, this will meet your needs beautifully.

Good Chinese-type knife-cleaver - 3mm and 16 oz means it is heavy but sturdy
This is a 3mm thick 16oz knife, so it is much heavier than most Chinese chefs knives that are 2mm thick and 10 oz. However, this weight and thickness allows you to chop through thicker and harder objects that the 10oz Chinese chef knives are incapable of doing (or at least not without damage). I have chopped through polutry bones and lobster shells quite easilyHowever, it is not as suitable for "finely" slicing foods such as tomatoes. Thus, the 2mm 10oz Chinese chef knives or Western style chef knives are more suitable for finely slicing soft foods, while this 16oz Chinese cleaver is great for chopping and cutting through meat, bone, seafood with hard shells, sturdier vegetables like squash and zucchini, etc.I am giving it 4/5 so far because the wooden handle is not 100% tigtly fitted to the metal tang of the sword, so there is a small bit of give and creaking noise. I may reevaluate 6-12 months from now to give it a higher or lower rating depending on if it remains sturdy and in good condition or if it develops further issues.

You’ve gotta get this if you’re looking for a great cleaver!!!
What a beautiful cleaver. Very sharp and well balanced. It’s a joy to hold and makes quick work of a whole chicken to curry size pieces…Can’t believe the inexpensive price. What’s steal for such a nice utensil…

Heavy steel*
Be careful with this knife the weight is on another level! This blade is really sharp! In mean exceedingly sharp! When using this knife cut big things like heads of lettuce or potatoes etc! Not for chopping small hard vegetables! Its a beautiful blade with quality wood* This is for pros*

Good Performance, but Comfort and Precision Could Improve
I recently purchased a Meat Cleaver and have found its performance to be quite satisfactory. It effectively tackles the task of cutting through bones and meat. However, I must mention that the ergonomic design, particularly in the handle, is not very comfortable. The grip feels awkward, making it challenging to achieve the precision I desire when aiming for specific cutting areas. While the overall functionality is commendable, improvements in user comfort and handling precision would greatly enhance the product.
