Photographer's Guide to cape Cod, a great start in planning a trip.
I picked up The Photographer's Guide to Cape Cod and the Islands for a two day photo trip that had me starting in Falmouth at the Nobska Point lighthouse and ending in Truro at Highland lighthouse. This guide has a wealth of information, but rember it is only a guide, you have to find out what it is about the area that brings you and your camera to this great place. I had only two days so it was lighthouses and boats, as I look back through my photos the best shots were befor sunrise to about 1 hour after and the same for sunset. Chris Linder gives his spots that he likes to shoot at this time of day you can use these or find your own. My sunset spot was not on the water at a beach but at Highland Lighthouse, the sunset photo taken from the back of the lighthouse was a photographer's dream, bring your tripod and create the photo dream of your own. One other tip invest in a good wide angle lense, I used a 12-24mm and a 17-70mm on a Pentax K 5Dii.

A must-have book for every Cape Cod photographer
I'm a fine art photographer who has lived on Cape Cod for just over two years. I found this book extremely helpful. With less time spent on scouting around for the best vantage points, I have more time to actually get great shots during the sweet lighting times just before and after sunrises and sunsets. I bought this book for suggestions on places further away from my home town, but I'm also discovering new, tucked away spots within a 15-20 minute drive. I enjoyed Chris Linder's photos, too, and his anecdotes on other not-to-miss places -- I couldn't agree more about taking a few minutes for a stop at Coffee Obsession while in Woods Hole! I'd recommend this book to photographers of any skill level who have limited time to fine and capture great images.

Great book
I thought this book was great. It tells where all the good photographic spots are. Thanks to this book I was up and running all over Cape Cod during my vacation. The only thing that would have been an improvement would be if the author recorded the camera settings next to each photo. Great buy!

Short stay in Cape Cod
We visited Cape Cod for 4 days in April so did not have a lot of time for poking around looking for photogenic scenery. This book was a great asset setting out in an orderly manner the best places to photograph, good descriptions of how to get there and even maps at the front of the book with numbered references to all the locations. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to photograph the Cape or even as a guide to the most attractive scenery.
