SeachemAquavitro Mineralize 350Ml
C**R
Adds Magnesium And Calcium ONLY - UPDATE Below
So many other products sold to raise GH (general hardness) contain other minerals such as potassium and iron. Since GH is defined as ONLY magnesium and calcium, any other minerals added do nothing for GH. However, those other minerals will increase TDS, which may not be desirable (look up TDS shock and TDS buildup). If you are trying to raise GH, you are likely using RO/DI water, which also means you are likely controlling your own additives to your tank, such as potassium and iron for plants. If you add some of these other popular "GH" products, such as Equilibrium or GH Booster, you will be adding potassium and iron, which may result in overdosing those minerals if you are already adding them as part of a plant nutrient supplement system.Although potassium overdosing is difficult, but can be done (at high doses it can choke off calcium and magnesium uptake by plants), it will add to TDS buildup. Iron, of course, is very easy to overdose.UPDATE: The reason it is not available on Amazon is because Seachem pulled their entire aquavitro line from all e-tailers. You can only buy it in your local fish store, and very few carry it. The problem is that the aquavitro line is expensive and this discourages buyers, unless they know how good these products are. So, with few buyers, the LFS gradually lets other, cheaper, alternatives crowd out the aquavitro line on their shelves and this means you get very spotty stocking of aquavitro products. Seachem seems to have embarked upon a very successful sales minimization program.
