Great product! Good when not wanting metal beaters!
I used this when using an ingredient sensitive to metal. So after carefully using the non-metal beaters, it worked perfectly. It was gentle enough to mix very well. I wouldn't recommend when having to mix very crunchy items but for something smooth, it works great! Love it!

Powerful, Affordable Hand Mixer—A Kitchen Essential!
This hand mixer is a ninja in the kitchen! It is easy to use and very powerful (up to 5 speeds PLUS a turbo button!). The whisks just attach to the handle, and you are ready to start mixing. I am honestly really surprised by how fast this mixer goes. This mixer is also super affordable for the price point. Just get it, you won't regret it!

This little machine packs a punch!
True to the dependability of Black & Decker, this hand mixer is a great addition to my small kitchen appliances. It's light weight, easy to use & clean, has several speed settings and great power behind each one. The drawback with the hex beaters is when making meringue, it causes the mixture to climb up on the side of the bowl and beaters. Be careful when whipping anything delicate because this mixer is powerful! Other than that, it's other attachments fit it well for their purpose. The storage part doesn't actually "snap" on but rather fits in a more barely snag way so be careful with that too. In all, I recommend this product to keep or for a gift to anyone.

So happy with the quality & performance of this mixer.
I used my new Black & Decker mixer today for mashed potatoes. I was amazed at the power & performance of this mixer compared to my old one. Wish I had discovered it sooner. It’s also light weight & easy to operate, clean, & store.

Just buy the kitchenaid
I needed a hand mixer for a second home. I had just gotten a new kitchenaid 6 speed at my primary home and love it, but was hoping I could be thrifty and save some money outfitting the second kitchen. Turns out that was a fail.I read all the reviews, negative and positive, and it seemed there was valid explanation for most of the negative outcomes people had. For example, some people said the batter rises up the wands when you try to mix anything. But I then read that this was because people had the wands in the wrong holes. Well, turns out that the batter does ride up the wands and you cannot reverse/change the placement as they have unique fittings for right and left.In addition, the speeds are terrible. The lowest speed is way too fast to begin mixing anything, even just to cream butter and sugar, and stuff goes flying everywhere, creating a mess. As you can imagine this is a complete disaster if you are mixing dry ingredients like flour. I made a batch of cookies and the low speed was much too fast and powerful for any step of that process. And with the dough climbing up the wands, instead of moving downward into the bowl, the actual mixing of the ingredients was terrible. I had to finish by hand.Clean up is also oddly time consuming. Typically one can just increase the speed and slowly move the wands up and out of the batter, and batter gently comes off the wands. But as these wands fill with dough, and it climbs up the stems, the wands become covered in dough/batter, mostly on the upper part. With my kitchenaid, the wands are covered with a silicone type of material and the batter just slides off, leaving very little to clean. With these wands, they are full of batter and I had to get out a butter knife and also use my fingers to slowly scrape them clean of batter. This machine is not quiet. I assumed the motor would be noisier than my kitchenaid, given the lower price, but thought the coating on the wands might dampen things in the bowl. Nope. The wands are actually a hard plastic that clangs against the bowl, almost as loud as metal wands. The electric cord is also oddly brittle feeling and I imagine depending upon how you store it, could wear and start to split. If you store it in the case, wrapping the cord to fit, it will be bent at an angle that is likely to yield to stress at some point. This was actually the death of my last mixer. But that cord was flexible and that one made it at least 20 years before splitting. I would gamble that the cord on the black and decker would yield much faster. If you want a mixer that mixes batter/dough down into the bowl, has a low enough speed to start the mixing process for everything from cakes to cookies to bread dough, has quiet and smooth operation, is easy to clean, will be easier than hand mixing and will be likely to last years, it is not this one. Buy something else. I recommend the kitchenaid 6 speed (or greater).
