Exelent for a reading light but a little dim
I have a good quality solid brass reading light that was made for these five inch tube incandescent light bulbs. I ordered one from Amazon about two weeks ago in a high wattage. It was plenty bright but made the fixture so hot it couldn't be touched. In the summer (now) it heated me up too. I also recently decided that I preferred the 'cooler' more natural sunlight-like 5600K light of a CFL like what I saw in my photographic lights. But no CFL will fit in my brass reading lamp. Then I found corn lights. I bought three. One is mini spotlight I use outdoors. I also got an eight watt one and this 5 watt bulb. This bulb shipped fast and so I've used it for a couple days already. The other one from another manufacturer won't be here for weeks yet. Bummer. The light from this bulb is much less yellowish than an incandescent and it runs very very cool. Even after an hour my fixture is not even warm. I lost the last incandescent bulb when I knocked over the lamp and the filament broke. I've already knocked it over again, but this corn light being solid state survived. It is almost bright enough to be ideal. At 5 watts, it's serviceable but not optimal. When after all this time my 8 watt corn light finally arrives that one should be perfect.

good white-light bulbs for the refrigerator
a little weird without a covering but my fridge/freezer have plastic covers over the lights anyways to help protect them from being bumped & these have worked very well. it's great that they do not give off heat like incandescent bulbs & they are cool to touch. they are not as bright as i hoped (i'd say a 25-30w range, definitely not 40w like some people stated & i hoped for) but with 2 in the fridge they are ample and i much prefer this cool white-color light, it's much brighter & clearer to see what's in there compared to more dingy warm color light. if you only have 1 bulb in your fridge i'd look for one a little brighter, at least 7w. i like to use cool light for task lighting (fridge, countertops, laundry room, garage, closets) & warm light for mood lighting (living/bed rooms.) bathrooms are a toss up- i like cool light for mirrors & use warm over shower/tub.

Nice small white light, order a couple more
Had this running about 20 hours and it 's fine. Nice bright white light. Does get warm but not hot. Since there's no cover on the LEDs I suggest you do not touch, or especially twist, the LEDs. Install the bulb by turning the plastic base, Not holding the LEDs.Not an exceptionally bright light - probably 400 Lumens but it is a 5w rating. Light output is roughly equivalent to a 30-35watt incandescent at best. Very nice small size. I'm ordering a couple more to use in our garage door opener to replace the 40w incandescent. Since these provide a bright white light compared to a standard incandescent, they seem about as bright as the 40w incandescent bulbs. Good choice if you're looking to replace a 25w to 30 w incandescent light with a bright white bulb.

Honest seller
Color is a blue/gray. Reminds me of a cloudy day. I have one in my fridge and it works great. I would say its more equalvialant to a 25w bulb. I use them in my closets with motion sensors and they work great. I would not recommend them for areas that you would want to read the color is not adequate. More for general or task lighting due to the color. The shipping did take a few weeks. I would buy more of these in the future.

Works for my needs.
About equal to a 45 watt bulb. I use it in a end table light along with a UPS and if the power goes off it will stay on for about 8 hours which by then the power is restored. I have a 13 watt spiral florescent in the other end table and only get 2-3 hours before the UPS runs out. This is only used as an emergency light as the light it gives off is not good enough to light a room well. If you had 4 or 5 of these on at one time it might be sufficient, but for my needs it's just used as a reading light when the power is out.

Brighter than I am!
... because my plan was to leave it burning all the time on my back porch to throw some light out there for late moonless returns... but I keep turning it off! The historical immorality of the equivalent of 75 watts, IMHO (Hey, that's my first acronymic whatchamacallit) burning all day long is just too much for me to adjust to! How much does it cost me, say... each year, to leave this thing on all the time? Anyone? Maybe that will loosen me up!

LED bulb
These lights are fairly dim...probably comparable to a 20w light. The light has a very cool tint that might be a bit to blue for most people. They make a great night light(if you like bright night lights) but don't compare to a 60 watt bulb. The price reflects this and is worth the modest cost.

Small, white and bright
As you can see from the photo, these guys are quite small. They are about as bright as a 60W incandescent. 6000K means white, way less yellow than a compact fluorescent. They are white, not blue, although I can understand that some may call them blue. Use them where the light out the sides will not be wasted. Note that these are bare; there is a model with a plastic shield, which is dimmer and more yellow. Tuck these away in a ceiling globe mount and you should be good for 22.3 years. Or so they say.
