Dyson DC07/DC14 Internal Hose 904219-02

First of all, I LOVE my dyson purple pet vacuum.... purchased my vacuum in 1997 and it's still going strong. Recently noticed suction not performing well and upon closer inspection realized this small hose connecting vacuum head and motor was crunchy/cracked and kept popping off its mount. After finding this product online, I purchased and replaced the hose.... the old hose popped right off, had to use pliers to remove one end of the tube, then attach new one with a screwing motion.... (righty, tighty)... and that was a little difficult to do. No instructions about how to replace, one could just pop it on but I doubt it would hold well. Because I had to screw off the attached end of old hose, knew it should attach deeper to the machine... Machine works like new again!!! I purchase new filters for the vacuum here at amazon too... an occasional deep clean of the vacuum and re-wrapping electrical cord differently each time I use it to prevent the cord from shorting/breaking inside and my Dyson is running just like new again! It always amazes me how much 'dirt' it sucks up from my living room area rug! We no longer have pets on a regular basis but hubby plays in the yard/dirt alot :)

An exact fit - wrangle the old one off and fit this one in it's place - done! Gets your suction back at the beater bar floor head right away.

TL;DR: My suction issues were created by the original internal hose which had degraded and cracked over time. This product fixed it and brought my vacuum back to life. Faced with poor suction, I first replaced the upper and lower filters on the vacuum with generic versions found here on Amazon. Stuck with the same problem, I investigated in the vacuum head to find that this hose had disconnected itself. After reattaching it and seeing it disconnect itself again, I removed it to learn that it was too far gone. Replacing it with this version, as well as filters, restored the performance of my almost 20 year old DC-14. Searching "Dyson DC-14 internal hose" on YouTube yielded me some good "how-to" videos to ensure this new hose was attached properly. Simply put, screw on the "spring" edge first and then pop the rubber piece in place - it will make sense when you see it.

They went on just fine, and so far they seem to be working great. After a couple of weeks I'll upgrade it maybe to another star.

This was for a DC17 replacement. Worked and fit as it was suppose to.

Quality Dyson product. New hose is stiff and tight. Easy to install if you do this: 1) disconnect hose from motor-base with a screwdriver as a pry tool. 2) remove the Brush roller using a Dyson Belt Change tool (easy), 3) remove brush cover assembly from motor-base by gently prying it away from the pivot sockets at each end, 4) pry off the old hose from the brush roller base with a screwdriver, 6) gently heat the new hose spiral end with a hair dryer so the plastic is soft and a bit stretchy, 7) gently but firmly twist the new hose onto the brush roller base inlet over the hose retainer notches until the wire end is at the "stop" area, 8) press attach the hose motor-end retainer to the motor-base inlet , 9) reinstall the brush roller base into the motor-base sockets by pressing with heel of hand or other wide tool, 10) reinstall brush roller using Dyson Belt Change Tool. Good to go. Vacuum away.

I had to replace the original hose because after 20 years of everyday use, the hose had deteriorated. Used on my Dyson DC14 vacuum cleaner. Now rhe vacuum cleaner is back in service for greater use.
