It's A Cable
It's a cable. It either works, or it doesn't. That being said, it was a bit pricey (although cheaper than any other one I could find). The only thing I didn't like is that it didn't have the iPod connector on it which I would never of used anyways.

Completely unnecessary.
Nothing against the seller, as I got exactly what I bought. However, having installed it on my radio, I now realize that there is no need to buy the "kit" Pioneer says you need. The radio requires merely a standard, everyday HDMI cable and a standard, everyday USB cable. The 17-pin-to-USB is not even compatible with my system (AVIC-8000nex - I am aware that this particular listing does not list the CD-IH202 for that model, but Pioneer does.)In any event, the Amazon Basics HDMI and USB cables will work fine; this kit is unnecessary for AppRadio.

The kit includes a 2-meter automotive grade HDMI cable, which handles all audio and video transfer between the Pioneer products and an iPhone 5. A 1.5-meter 17-pin to USB cable for charging, and spiral cord wrapper to keep the cords neatly organized.The package I received DOES NOT INCLUDE A SPIRAL CORD WRAPPER.

NOT FOR AVH-X8500BHS
This is not for a AVH-X8500BHS. The USB adapter Cable is not compatible with the radio. There is not port on the back to plug it into. There are already 2 USB ports on the back you can use. And the HDMI is a standard HDMI cable any will work. This might be OK for other radios but not a AVH-X8500BHS.

Good cable
These were for my Pioneer App radio 3 with DVD. The cables appear to be of original pioneer, though they could be substituted with generics. But then you only have yourself to blame if it does not work right.
