Works pretty well.
This does help to bring in stations that are on the edge of regular receprtion with your radio. Not fantastic, but it does help for clarity.

Great addition to your radio
Awesome simply Awesome used it on my last camping trip in the mountains. Usually you can only get two FM stations, but this time I got five or six. All of the stations were perfectly clear also. I'm very happy with this addition to my radio.

It does help
Not huge difference but for the money it's great.

Significantly improves reception for shortwave radios with standard whip antenna
Using this with my CCrane Skywave radio and the Tectun 880. Attaches to the antenna of the radio, then unreel it as far as possible, hooking the reel end to a tree branch with the clip, or some object inside the house. Outside is always better. The combination of longer antenna length, as well as the capacitor attaches in series with the reel antenna definitely works to bring in distant short wave stations. Not for AM broadcast band on either of these radios, as in this mode they are connected only to the internal ferrite antenna, not the external whip antenna.

Actually using it on an old Heathkit WWV clock now.
I connected to my old Heathkit GC-1000 “Most Accurate Clock” initially, as it has always had reception problems in this apartment. Not sure how much it improved things but after resyncing to WWV when powered on a mysterious 10 minute offset that suddenly appeared last year vanished (I suspect that was more due to the reset than the antenna though). I purchased this clock (and RS-232 option) for my Western Digital Pascal MicroEngine, after getting tired of manually typing the date and time every time I bootstrapped the computer. While I quit using the MicroEngine in 1991 and donated it to the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA in 2008, I have kept the Heathkit GC-1000 “Most Accurate Clock” running all these years. Will see how the antenna continues on the Heathkit clock and eventually on the C Crane CC Skywave as I figure out more of its capabilities.

Very portable
The radio eats batteries even when it is off, but this antenna is great. Keep the antenna. Throw away the radio.
