One flaw
This was relatively easy to put together. Its comfortable and good looking. BUT....People tend to naturally brace themselves somewhat when lowering your self into a chair or getting up out of a chair. And our family has tended to use the armrests of the chair for this purpose. Well, only two months into owning this chair, the armrest is SPLITTING down the shaft, snapping the armrest forward. There is a weak point there and evidently the only thing holding the armrest in the upright normal position is a thin, cheap piece of plastic down the shaft. Very disappointed in this weakspot.

Hopefully you get what you paid for, I didn't
I ordered two of these chairs. One was fine. The other had clearly been used/returned (it was packed strangely and some plastic parts were scuffed) and was missing both the gas cylinder and the assembly parts package. After contacting the company every other day for a week they eventually sent the gas cylinder. No parts package. I will be returning the useless chair (hopefully). This seller is not very responsive and probably won't been too helpful if you don't get what you ordered. Good luck! The "good" chair is ok. It's slightly higher quality than a $50 chair, definitely a nice thick pad (which you will not like if you are shorter than about 5'8"). There are some minor quality issues, like the armrests in the very top or bottom position are a different heights. The latch to lean the seat back pops into the locked position when I don't want it to. Otherwise it's a pretty good chair.

Lots of seat cushion!!
Over all, the chair is nice BUT if you want to be able to adjust the space between seat cushion and the back, your options are none. I have it positioned with the back as far from the seat cushion as I can get it and it's still too close....it feels as though it's pushing me forward. It's a nice chair, don't get me wrong...the seat cushion is very nice...I went from a chair that was hard as a bleacher seat and this is cushy...just not many adjustment options so if you want to adjust, adjust and adjust, I suggest you get one step up from this chair as the adjustment options are fewer than the old bleacher seat of a chair I'm moving out of, which is surprising. Also, you can adjust the back tension but can't lock it in place once you get it leaned back a bit..it goes right back forward. You can lock it but only in the forward position which is what I am trying to avoid...as I said, it feels like it's pushing me forward and out of the chair. All in all, it's worth the money. .

Great affordable chair.
Took longer to arrive then expected due to a set back. took me about 20 mins maybe less to set it up. let me start off by saying that I have back problems I get mid back pain. so needless to say I'm looking for a decent chair that wasn't that pricey that supported the lumbar area. I sat on this chair for about 30 minutes and im liking this chair already. The chair is very comfy and makes you use good posture. the handles are adjustable so you can lower or raise them to your liking the seat is very comfy almost feels like tempurpedic seat. I work from home for up to 8 hours a day so I will be leaving a 1 week review then a one month review as well. so far it's better than the faux leather office chair that was a number one seller on amazon. I'll keep you guys posted.

A better chair than what I had
I just blew out a cheaper chair in less than 18 months, this alera elusion is a step up and I love it, it it may be the first chair I've ever owned that adjusts high enough for my longer legs, what a relief, I usually opt for a chair that costs less money and glad to have spent extra this time around. The arm and back rests have a little give and take which works for me. It's very subtle and quiet and not too flexy.

Slowly Dying?
When I first got this chair I was excited. It takes a while for me to warm up to a new computer chair, but this one was pretty good. Comfortable all the way around.Less than a year later, I am less excited. The piston that makes the chair go up or down has died. I stand up and pull the lever, which on most chairs would make the seat rise, but it does nothing but emit a pathetic hiss. If I pick the chair up and pull the lever the legs lower, effectively raising it, but once I sit on it, the chair lowers back down to its lowest height. It's still comfortable, and I wish I could raise it a hair to work with my desk, but I guess it is no longer an adjustable height chair. Might be time to buy a different brand to replace this one.

High end quality!
I've been pretty lucky in the past decade working for a company that provided some of the best chairs in the industry. I've sat in and enjoyed the best that Herman Miller, Steelcase and Humanscale have to offer including the Aeron, Embody, Mirra 2, Think and Freedom chairs. I've recently became a remote and had to buy my own chair. I landed on the Alera Elusion and so far love it. It is well built, solid and heavy but very comfortable. It went together pretty easily as well in maybe 10 minutes.

Solidly built and the cushion is comfortable. However it is not easy to lean back in this chair as the seat and back are fixed to each other so you can only rock the entire chair back, and with the tilt tension at its loosest it's still difficult. Also, I could not after 2 hours of effort deattach the seat, the cylinder, and the base of the chair so I couldn't return it. I'm probably going to give it away to someone in my apartment building.
