Worked for me…
This gets the job done. I used my garden shovel to scoop out some sand, used the handles on the pole to twist the umbrella down as far as it would go into the sand, packed the leftover sand around the bottom of the pole, and it stayed up all day at the beach! The only thing that I don’t like is the bag. Since this umbrella has 2 parts (the bottom half of the pole is removable), the bag needs to be bigger. I feel like bag is going to rip when I put the bottom section of the pole into the bag. It might at some point.

hard to screw the bottom in dirt at the soccer field.
It's great for the shade, but my husband had to hold it up because neither he nor our son could get it far enough into the ground to hold itself up.
