Essential for travel
Works for me as intended. Useful for charging anonymously. Critically, by blocking the data signal, these adapters enable use of data-enabled entertainment system USB ports for operating and charging dashcams and GPS navigators that otherwise go into upload/download mode using these ports. Don’t want to upload your entire contact list to that rental car? Then get this! Highly recommended.

Essential for Work and Travel Security
My job requires this, but honestly I’d use it regardless. If you ever charge your phone or laptop in random public places—like airports, hotels, or shared outlets—this is a cheap and effective way to protect your data from juice jacking. It blocks data transfer while still allowing fast charging. For the price, it’s a no-brainer, especially if you’re using a work device or phone.

No data goes through
USB C uses data to figure out if it can send more power. When I use this to charge phone or other devices its a slower charge, but I also know no data is being sent. Pros and cons. Solid product from a solid company, as always.

Only works with some cables
I tested this on my USB cable tester attached to a full featured USB C to C cable. It does appear to block all USB data lines, as well as the sideband lines and one of the config lines. These last two seem somewhat unnecessary, and it's probably why the cable seems to also block all charging when connected onto the end of an "E-Marker" cable.Apparently most of the cables I own contain E-Markers except for one short one. Through this I was able to charge and the USB-PB voltages were apparently able to be negotiated. It also seemed to work on the end of a USB A to C cable. So it "works", but as a practical matter I'm not sure how useful this is in the real world.

Works well for me, well made and trusted
These work perfectly for allowing one to connect a device to any random USB-C port they come across without worrying about someone being able to hijack the data on the device. Now SHOULD one connect to a random USB-C port for charging? Not if you can avoid it but sometimes circumstances just dictate that you have to do so.This cable is for that situation. It provides power to your device while interrupting the data lines so that a suspicious host device cannot steal or mess with your data.I've used equipment from PortaPow for a few years now and never had any issues with them.Running some simple tests with simple test equipment and my phone and tablet I noted that I was able to negotiate a high(er?) charging rate than I would have had with just a 2-wire power connection. This seems to indicate that there is enough "smarts" in the cable to ensure better-than-minimum charge rates. Although YMMV as I see various reviews that certain devices could not negotiate the higher charge rates. Not having access to a full test suite I can only report that--for my own uses--they work fine and are from a company I trust.

Partially works
I connected this to an IPhone 15. This data blocker works in the vehicle, but would not pass power from two different laptops or two different docks. 20% functional rate doesn’t instill a lot of confidence.

Nice quality. Worked as expected
Did what is asked of them. Blocked data synch with my iPhone. Let charging work as expected. Nice quality.

Keeps data secure!
Product allows users to easily stop "juice jacking". It is compact, charges as expected, and stops unwanted connections. I'd call it a good investment that is a value, especially compared to recovering from a cyber incident. Recommended!
