This is a great idea!
It does a great job of keeping temperature down during the hot days of summer. I definitely recommend it.

Great for customized skylights and easy to install!
I don't normally leave reviews but I was so impressed with this product. It does everything it says it will do, is very light and easy to install. I really appreciated the ability to get the customized measurements down exactly, and it arrived exactly per my specifications. Don't forget to read the instructions and watch the video. You should plan to caulk around the edges because some light will filter through otherwise. Well done!

Love it, but installation is a bother. Wouldn't recommend it unless you have some skills.
I have a skylight right above my computer screen, and at a certain time in the afternoon the sun shines thru it and totally washes out my monitor. So this shade is a real god send. It's completely opaque, fits really well looks great, and keeps out the sun. It's also keeping the room much cooler in the afternoon, a blessing this last week when it's been hitting 90 degrees+ outside. However, as others reviewers have mentioned, the installation instructions are limited - a single page with virtually no text (see 4th photo). At least it shows which of the two types of screws provided go where. The worse thing is there are no pre-drilled holes on the sides of the frame and no instructions saying you should drill them yourself. Rather they provide shelf tapping sheet metal screws (I think - 'D' in the instruction photo) that are only an inch long - barely long enough to go thru the drywall surrounding the sides of my skylight and go into the wood framing. If I'd used them without predrilling the holes, I'm sure the inside of the frame would of been all scratched up from the screw sliding around trying to start the hole, and that eventually the frame will come loose and pull out out because the screws are too short, leaving big rips in the drywall as it did. Even more problematic, there is a ridge right down the back center of their aluminum frame you can't see from the inside of the frame. If you use their self-tapping screws from the inside, there seems a high probability you'd hit this ridge a bit off to the side, knocking the screw to some weird angle. Rather than risk this, I used my own 1 3/4 inch screws, and pre-drilled holes in the side for them. There were a few minor problems too. The first is that a couple of important metal endcaps fell off the frame in transit. Lucky I found them and figured out where they went.Another minor problem is that once assembled, the frame is really flimsy before it's mounted. It flops all over the place and I was really worried it would bend if I held it wrong. Stronger corners would of been great, but since they're only really needed for install, I can see why they're not part of the design. It either requires something like the bar clamps I show in the first photo to hold it up prior to mounting, or two people. (Blue masking tape to hold it up during the install was a total no-go... It was too heavy). The final problem is opening/closing the shade. It' doesn't really slide all that easily, it takes a bit of force. However, the dragon shaped (if you squint hard enough) end of the stick provided to reach the shade (see 4th photo) and open/close it really doesn't fit into the slot on the bottom of the frame. Luckily I'm tall enough reach it without the handle, but I feel for shorter people. I don't know if it should slide easier, or the blue side should go up rather than down, or they put the handle on the end of the shade upside down.Anyway, I'm glad I got this - I really needed it, it works great, and it looks awesome. I just wished the manufacturer spent some effort on making it a bit easier for an amateur to install.Better installation instructions:1) Put frame together as per their instructions. (Watch out for loose metal end pieces that may of dislodged in shipment.2) Use a stud finder to find locations of stud's behind your skylight's drywall. Plan to mount your frame at that height.3) From outside of frame, drill 4 to 6 holes that will screw into the frame you found in step 2.4) Mount bar clamps in hole, as shown in picture, to the bottom of the skylight to hold the frame. Put frame on top of them. Adjust clamps so frame is level.5) Screw longer screws thru your holes into the wood framework under your skylight. If you don't have a wood frame behind where you're mounting your blinds, I'd recommend drywall anchors of some sort just in case.

Really happy
Although the first order I placed arrived with the wrong color customization I ordered, the customer service chat was timely and resolved my issue without any hesitation. Took a couple of weeks to ultimately get my order, but the blinds assembled and installed in about an hour (with the help of a second person to hold them in place). They look terrific and function really well. I am very happy with their customer service and product.

Easy install, arrived quickly
The shades came quickly along with the extension pole. It assembled and installed quickly, but the assembly instructions may be obscure for someone who is not used to assembling things. It's not hard since there are only 4 pieces that need to be fit together with 4 screws. The assembled shade is wobbly, but once it is installed, it's fine. To put this in our skylight, it definitely needed 2 people, not because it's heavy, but because it's wobbly and I'm not sure one person could do it easily.Unlike other users, the extension pole fits fine and works fine. No complaints about it.

Easy assembly and great value. Should use 2 people for installation
The blinds fit properly, and are a good quality and do an excellent job of blocking the sunlight (I ordered full black out blinds). Also they vendor has excellent customer service! For all this I gave 5 stars. HOWEVER, I also ordered the rod/handle to reach the ceiling shades/blinds and move them open and closed. DO NOT ORDER ONE. You can see from several other reviews that it is not compatible with these shades. It does not interlock with the moving part of the shade/blind and easily slips off. And because you are applying force to move the blind, when it slips off, the free end may rip the cellular fabric or damage the window. I wrote to TRIPIACE and explained the problem, they immediately credited my Amazon account for my cost of the handle $10. For this I also give them 5 Stars! FYI, I am an engineer, and decided to create my own method to open and close these blinds... I attached a wooden block to the sliding bar, and secured it with 2 small screws. Then screwed an eye hook into the block. (All these I had on hand.) Now I will use the heavy duty crank that came with the window to open and close the blinds. See the attached pictures that I also sent to Tripiace. If you want to make a similar hook, I suggest buying a large eye hook and 2 nuts (machine screw threads, not wood screw), drill one appropriate hole through the center of the sliding part and secure the eye hook with a nut and flat washer on both sides of the hole you drilled. Now, any rod with a hook on the end can be used to securely slide the shade/blind... Like a 3/4" wooden dowel of appropriate length to reach your window(s) with an wooden eye hook (this one is for wood) screwed into the end. Good luck!
