Pentel Graph Gear 1000 Mechanical Pencil, 0.5mm (PG1015)

Amazing tool! Truly! Not only is it extremely durable, but it feels quite premium as well (and not just because of its weight). It is also good to fidget with whilst thinking. Overall serves to create a truly premium writing experience!

I accidently bought this size instead of the .7 version but decided to keep it! I've been having a lot of fun using it. It has a cool mechanism with the clip part, the lead is well protected, and I like the little cap that covers the eraser! It erases really well, writes well, and is comfortable to hold. Its also pretty heavy compared to the cheaper mechanical pencils that I've owned before. I haven't dropped it or damaged it yet so I say it's also pretty durable ( but I haven't really put it to the test yet.) Overall, pretty cool pencil!

No doubt about it. This is just a great pencil. I use it in my workshop and I have dropped it, stepped on it, kicked it, thrown it by accident, let my grand kids use it, and it still works perfectly! It advances the lead the perfect amount letting me make exact marks for cutting. I love the retracting feature that keeps the tip safe when it's not being used. I use both the 7MM and the 5MM sizes.

I've always used cheap little pencils when doing odd jobs around the house, but wanted a good mechanical pencil that wouldn't get beat up. I love the weight and heft of it. I ended up buying two. One to actually write with and have at my desk, and one to use on the little handy jobs around the house. Like the other reviewers, I recommend getting some external erasers. This one is barely adequate and runs out fast. I also recommend getting some different lead weights to use for different jobs, and make sure they are resistant to breaking.This has definitely become my favorite mechanical pencil of all time, and I use it frequently.

This pencil feels great to use. It has just the right amount of weight—heavy enough to feel solid and comfortable, but not so heavy that it tires your hand. The tip protection mechanism is especially well-designed and makes the pencil feel even more durable and professional. Excellent quality overall.

My child always complains that mechanical pencil leads break easily, but this one is much better and he’s really happy with it.

Very comfortable to write, the weight and balance is great. The sleeved tip gives a precise feel and does not feel like it’s blocking the view. All features are great and the self-snapping mechanism at the pencil tip joining the plastic body threads gives you an opportunity to enjoy another new pencil every few months.
