Portable TV Antenna with Signal Booster

So I cut the cable (Fios TV) years ago, going on 4th year now. At the time I purchased one of those flat style antenna's. While it worked, I also had to move it around depending on the channel I wanted, even though according to the FCC map, my address had me safe within the broadcast range for all of my local channels (yes I get it, other things can impact reception). Regardless if I wanted to watch different channels it required that I moved things around.This process has worn on me, specially with my wife wanting to watch some shows on broadcast and refused to fiddle with the antenna.... So I took to Amazon to see if I could find a better model.Which brings me to this unit. I see that a new trend in design has come out and with most of these, they all share very similar specs in promised reception. So i gave this unit a try.Been using it for several days now and immediately I'm saw a massive improvement over my previous antenna and a key thing to point out, I have them both in the same location (indoors, close to the ceiling next to a giant bay window which is facing south). So what ever is in this unit is able to pick up the reception a lot better. I swapped out connections multiple times to see if I was just getting lucky with a clear day and as soon as I connect the old antenna, I lose 2 of the channels (fox and cw) and my cbs starts to flicker.This device comes with a 36ft cable, that cannot be shortened so keep that in mind if you only need a few feet (your going to have to coil it). It has allowed me to run the cable a lot cleaner, to run my old antenna in a similar way, I would have to add extensions which some credit to cutting back the quality of the signal (I don't totally agree, I know splitting the signal causes problems).Been able to enjoy crystal clear HD broadcast TV without the need to reposition the device. I'm even thinking about possibly running the device outside of home as I have the cable length to do it and could possibly get more channels (but I have all of what I want today so there is no rush to do it).Oh lastly, it comes with a base set of items to mount this (screws or double-sided sticky stuff but I ended up using my stash of command hooks, simply because I've grown used to how they work.Highly recommend that you spend a little more on a quality antenna seeing that your saving a lot more cutting the cord!Update Note: An FYI to Outdoor installation planners, I found that the non removable amplifier requires that I will have to drill a much bigger hole in the side of my home to get this hooked up then I would like (greater than 1"). The good news is that they do have a version that has that [B089NFLZSD] I would recommend purchasing that model if you plan to hook up unit outside or run coax through floors.

Pros: quick easy setup, channels were clear and looked HDCons: unable to get CBS unless I was standing on the ladder holding the antenna a few feet below my skylight. If I brought it to the skylight, I lose that channel but gain FOX. If I moved it near either window in the living room, I lose both. I gain a ton of other channels, but the main reason I bought this was to keep both FOX and CBS. I've spent over an hour readjusting and relocating, but finally gave up.I hope everyone else has better luck. I thinks it's fishy that when the football season started, CBS has been nearly impossible to get anymore. This happened last year as well.

The product made a remarkable difference from our last antenna. The tv had been receiving 7 channels with the old antenna but this antenna connected to 23 channels with a much clearer picture. It is light and easy to install but the cable is sealed into the components on each end. I would give it a five star rating easily if I could have unplugged the outside portion of this model. We used an existing opening to snake the components through but otherwise they would have required a larger hole. it would be perfect for an inside only installation.

My older and less expensive antenna is better than this Amplifier tv antenna . I receive more stations with my other antenna and clearer. Don't need cords running across the room with my old antenna!

We bought this antenna because the local ABC station is holding out on Dish Network. Dish rightfully won't pay the station more for local service so we hoped this antenna would allow my wife to watch some of their programs. Fortunately, most of the time, the reception on that station is good with this antenna. The Charlotte area has terrible over the air stations and always has. This antenna is on an interior wall and it is not possible for us to put it anywhere else so it is behind the tv. It the reception was better on the local channels, I would give this antenna 5 stars.

UPDATE: I installed a second antenna in my bedroom this past weekend 4/11/21 and it worked great after I figured out the correct position. I was so pleased I purchased this second one. I will add that I actually tried two other ones from Best Buy, but they didn't come close to this one. I just purchased those others because they were local and I didn't want to wait on delivery. I have yet to find any antenna that works better even higher priced ones.FIRST REVIEW: I downgraded from cable to internet only because because cable had become too expensive for the service offered. I purchased this antenna and am now watching my local channels, the world news and Good Morning America that I missed so much. I can now watch all the shows on local networks that I missed enjoying. I was able to pick up 49 channels. Unfortunately, none of those channels included the NBC network, but I have my beliefs that it's scrambled in some way to force viewers to partner with Xfinity just to watch Dateline. That's another story. As for the antenna, I highly recommend this antenna; it's worth it. The picture quality is exceptional, and if I could install it anyone can. LOL
