Best coffee maker I have owned
I waited before reviewing. In fact, I waited 2 years. This coffee maker is one of my best purchases in the last few years. I drink a lot of coffee. At least a pot every day. I’ve owned a lot of coffee pots. Typically, I go with the low frills ones as there is less to break. Frankly, I don’t use any of the extra features. In this case, the ability to quickly swap out between brewing a full pot and just doing a single k-cup is awesome. I usually brew a full pot in the morning. This one knocks out a pot in about 5 minutes. Not as fast as my Bunn but I’m perfectly fine with the extra minute. In the past, if I wanted a single cup in the afternoon, I ended up brewing a whole pot and wasting most of it. Now, I can just slap in the k-cup holder and get my single cup. This ultimately saves a lot of time and money. Takes about 3 seconds to change. It brews a solid cup of coffee. I’m not overly snobby about my coffee so I can’t compare to some ridiculously expensive brewer but the coffee comes out hot and flavorful. I also like the self-cleaning feature. I put in a little cleaner, add water and hit the button. It cleans for 72 minutes. I run a few full pots of just water through it. The brewer has not failed me yet. Hasn’t even really slowed down which is crazy because I have hard water and it tends to ruin coffee makers. Not this one. Finally, the ability to easily pull off the water tank and walk it over to the sink is a must-have. This one is effortless. The only knock I have is that the shut-off lever to grab a cup mid-brewing is hit or miss. I’ve adjusted and just wait for it to finish. There is no doubt in my mind that I will buy it again when this one fails. In fact, I’m tempted to buy another one already just in case they decide to stop manufacturing it because I suspect the one I have is going to last several more years.

The End of the "Grounds vs. Pods" Debate
The Ninja CFP201 DualBrew System is the first mid-range machine I’ve encountered that treats both brewing methods with the same level of engineering respect. If you’re looking to declutter your counter and upgrade your morning ritual, here is the professional breakdown of why this 12-cup hybrid is a top-tier contender for your kitchen. The Engineering: Thermal Flavor Extraction® DUO The biggest flaw in most pod machines is the "watery" finish. Ninja solves this with their Thermal Flavor Extraction tech. Precision Saturated: When using grounds, the showerhead ensures even saturation. When using pods, the machine uses multiple needles to ensure the water flows through the entire pod, not just a single hole in the center. Brew Styles: You aren't just choosing size; you're choosing intensity. The "Rich" setting is a game-changer for those who add milk or creamer, providing a concentrated flavor that doesn't get lost. The "Over Ice" setting is specifically calibrated to brew hot and fast at a high concentration, so the melting ice brings it to the perfect strength rather than diluting it. Versatility: 13 Sizes, Zero Stress In my 10 years of testing, I’ve rarely seen this level of customization in a non-commercial unit. Grounds: 9 sizes from a small cup to a full 12-cup carafe. Pods: 4 sizes (6, 8, 10, 12 oz). The auto-metering is pinpoint accurate. You don't have to worry about the reservoir size vs. the cup size; the machine knows exactly how much water to pull for your selection. PROS True Dual-Functionality: It replaces both a Keurig and a standard drip maker without taking up twice the space. The pod adapter is removable, meaning there’s no cross-contamination of flavors between your morning carafe and your afternoon K-Cup. Adjustable Warming Plate: Unlike many single-serve hybrids, the glass carafe side features a warming plate that stays active for up to 4 hours. Removable 60-oz Reservoir: The design is incredibly user-friendly. Being able to carry the tank to the sink rather than pouring water into the machine with a carafe prevents those annoying early-morning spills. Speed: It brews a pod significantly faster than a standard Keurig K-Elite. Travel Mug Friendly: The foldable single-serve platform allows you to brew directly into a tall travel mug without splashing. CONS The "Clean" Light Sensitivity: Ninja machines are notorious for their descaling sensors. If you have hard water, expect to run a vinegar or descaling cycle frequently to keep the "Clean" light from haunting you. Large Footprint: While it saves space by replacing two machines, it is still a deep unit (15.4" tall). Ensure you have enough clearance under your cabinets! No Built-in Frother: Note that this is the CFP201 model. If you want the integrated milk frother and specialty "latte-style" brew, you’ll need to step up to the CFP301 Pro model. Overall Input The Ninja CFP201 is a workhorse designed for the modern multi-user household. It’s elegant, fast, and—most importantly—it produces a cup of coffee that rivals boutique drip machines. It bridges the gap between the "I need it now" pod culture and the "I want to savor this" weekend carafe culture. Reviewer Pro-Tip: To prevent the common "grounds in your cup" issue when using pods, perform a "Freshwater Rinse" once a week. Simply run an 8oz "Classic" brew with the pod adapter installed but no pod inside. This flushes out any residual grounds trapped in the needles and keeps your coffee tasting crisp! Who is this for? Busy families with varying coffee tastes, remote workers who want a single cup during the day but a full pot in the morning, and anyone looking for a sleek, high-performing alternative to the standard Keurig.
