I love this book.
This is a wonderful book. It’s helped me get further into the recovery part of my journey when it comes to my food and body image relationship that I have with myself.

About 1/4 in and fascinated
I've never taken classes in feminism and this author has a really interesting take on body image and culture/media. I know this is a classic and I can see why. Very eye opening.

Good Feminist Introduction
An excellent text for younger adult women. As an older feminist, I found the book repeated what earlier writers have provided with greater intelligence and complexity. More appealing to less theoretical people.

A Beautiful Book
A very informative book. Bordo has a very humorously sarcastic writing style as she draws connections about our warped cultural views in society. I owe this book my new informed perspectives on various topics bout the female and male bodies and the effects culture has on all of us.

highly recommended-life changing!
This is my absolute favorite book on weight. It really opens your eyes and is so worth the read. I want to give it to everyone I know! It's theoretical but easy to understand and applicable to EVERYONE. Very much worth the read.

A good choice for gender scholars
An interesting read for those interested in gender and the body. I'm glad I read it but it is not in my core area of interests so not a particularly memorable read.

great!
on my reading list for my LCF course, definitely a must read because feminism needs to stop being catagorised into a generally "unfashionable" group - we all need to know more about it and this book is very contextual and informative
