Tyvek Protec 200 Roof Underlayment Roll - 4' x 50' - 2 Square

This tyvek 200 roofing underlayment is a superior product to almost anything else I've used. Once installed on the roof it affords a solid grip under foot when working to install the roof itself. It's a much safer product than many others. It's far superior to paper felt underlayment. It's also better than most every other synthetic underlayment. This underlayment also allows for extended wait periods before the roof must go on. We have installed this and waited 4 months for the roofing shingles to have been delivered to the site. Once we got back on the roof it was as pliable and safe as it was the day we installed it. Not to mention that it kept the inside of the house from becoming soaked during the rain storms. I highly recommend this version of tyvek roofing underlayment.

I used this underlayment on my small chicken coop (4x4) and it keeps it dry! I realy like how easy it is to install as well, for smaller jobs anyway. I got more for my larger coop (6x8) I will install when the weather gets warmer/drier.

I am a research and consulting scientist-engineer, and have and extensive educational background at the undergraduate university level in both mechanical and electrical/electronics engineering, and also in the sciences, and have an extensive educational background at the graduate university level in the sciences, and possess a graduate degree (Masters) in the sciences.I have designed, built, maintained and repaired a number of backyard-style buildings -- including their roofs -- across the past 45 years, and have also done maintenance on "difficult" roofs on a number of older homes..After having first performed extensive and exhaustive due diligence (i.e., diligent prior research) prior to selecting this product as the most suitable best-of-class product available on the marketplace, I have purchased several 50 foot rolls of this Tyvek Protec 200 Roof Underlayment roll product over the past couple of years from Amazon. I can say with certainty that I find this product to be nothing short of AMAZING! I have never been able to find anything better on the market.Aside from toughness, robustness, excellent UV resistance, and durability, I was looking for a roofing underlayment product that offered excellent self-sealing abilities around nail holes and similar penetrations, and very good resistance to penetration by falling branches and other sharp falling objects, and this product quickly emerged as the best-of-class product by far in this category.Yes, it is true that this the per foot price (for a 4 foot width roll) of this product is considerably higher than that of almost any other roofing underlayment roll product on the market, and, in some cases, it is true that you may be able to find certain competing roofing underlayment products available on the marketplace at per-foot (for a 4 foot width) prices that are two, three or four -- or even five -- times less expensive than the per-foot price of this product, but the reason that this product costs more up front lies in its quality and its amazing specs.This is my only go-to product for handling all sorts of really challenging and demanding roof design & installation projects, roof upgrade projects, and roof repair and maintenance projects. It is also useful for many other applications as well that technically lie outside the realms of traditional roofing underlayment.

I'm using it in an attic on top of a cathedral ceiling. It installs easily, cuts well, and I assume it does its job.

I used this on my small shed roof. Worked alone and took me only a few hours. Easy to roll out , measure and cut, it's marked in increments and with small pics recommending where nails should go under different conditions. Let's see how long it lasts, which will take time, or I would have given 5 stars.
