Great little tablet
I really like this Samsung tablet. I had a smaller one that I wore out and this one is upgraded with all sorts of new things. There are only a couple things I don't like about it. It is so sensitive to touch, that if you pick it up the wrong way while it's on, you will lose your page. Also it has a split screen which I hate. It can be turned off. But all in all, it's a very nice tablet. I like the size better than my old one which was 7", although it is considerably heavier because of that. One thing I miss from my old one is that I was able to speak to it while in Skype and it would type what I said. Especially good if you don't want to use the on screen keyboard, which ends up being "hunt and peck." I haven't yet figured out how to get it to do speech to text in Skype. The best I could do was an app that took what I said and recorded it for the other person. This was annoying because I didn't know it would do that and it makes a rather large file. I did get a Bluetooth keyboard for it and that works great. So there are probably many things I have to learn about it, but I am quite satisfied even tho it's not perfect.

Outstanding battery!
I love this tablet. The battery life is awesome. I had a Lenovo Tab A 10 and I was looking for something with more onboard storage than 16 gigs (plus my Lenovo had some serious problems after it upgraded to Marshmallow--dropping connections constantly and scrambled graphics for two examples). The only con is that the graphics aren't the best, but IMO the longevity of the battery more than makes up for that. I pound on my tablet all day, playing games and reading, and generally I have to charge overnight from 15% or less. With this tab, the most I've managed to deplete of the battery in one day is down to 66%. I'm not overselling it; my Lenovo has a great battery too, but not as great as this! I had originally intended to replace my Lenovo with the Asus ZenPad 3S 10 because, on paper anyway, you can't beat the specs for the money. The battery life on that thing was awful though and I sent it back the next day. The other thing some people may think is a con is that Samsung ships their tablets with a non-stock version of Android, so it feels more like an iPad OS than an Android, but it's quick to get used to it so I'm not counting that.I don't think this tablet is future proof because it's already slightly outdated, but for playing the games I want to play and for reading and not having to worry about the thing dying right away, it's more than worth the money to me. I searched and searched for a tablet under $300 with great specs, and other than the ZenPad (with the crappy battery), this tablet is pretty much it. If you can spend $600, then get the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, as that is top of line. This tab does come with Korean language to start, but it's very easy to switch to English. It does have a European plug with an American adapter, but I just plugged the usb cord into one of other other million American charger plugs I have so I don't have to deal with the European adapter thing. I was really worried about buying a tablet not meant for the American market, but my fears were totally baseless. Get it today!Edit: I'm taking a star off this tablet review because after 7 months of daily use, the battery has started to drain a lot faster (but it's still the best battery life I've ever had in a tablet) and I've been subjected to the dreaded Samsung black screen problem that plagues its line of tablets. What happens is that your tablet becomes seemingly unresponsive to any push of the power button or the home button and you cannot do a hard reset on it by holding down the volume down and power button simultaneously either. I had to take the back case/housing off the tablet and check all the connections. It turned out that the main LCD ribbon was loose from its connector, but upon pushing it back in squarely and firmly, the problem didn't correct. I had to also pull the battery ribbon loose from its connector and reconnect it to correct the problem. The most difficult part of fixing the tablet was getting the back case off, because unless you have a special tool, you're not really meant to be able to take the housing off the tablet. It was not terribly difficult to correct the problem, but it was annoying and I also cracked the housing slightly around the micro USB chip opening when I popped the back off off. There are a lot of videos on YouTube of how to do what I did, and if you buy this tablet, you may end up having to do that yourself.

Be mindful when you first start set up so that you are able to choose the appropriate language as everything is set to Korean
This is a great tablet, I wasn't sure about getting the international version but it works great. The only thing I had an issue with was resetting the location because this one was set to somewhere in Asia. Makes it a little hard when you want your local weather on your home screen. All in all a great tablet, worth the money. I would recommend this to anyone. The price is not that bad, the video play back is great quality and response is great even with the protective case on it and screen protector. I have never had to press very hard at all when making my way through the different apps and menus. Even resetting the location is not that hard though when you first start it is all in Korean or some other language but as long as you select the right option for language which was a lucky guess on my behalf everything else is easy sailing. The sound is great as well, when you turn it up it can get nice and loud...Either way I have not had any audio problems as it is not hard to hear even with the volume set at a low level. And there is no need to worry about connectivity as I was able to connect it to my wireless printer, and with the free download from the google app store had no problem getting the software that allows me to print straight to my printer from this tablet.

Will update to Oreo
This just arrived today, and I'm still working on setting it up for my granddaughter. I'd given her our old Tab 2, so I could reclaim my S9+ from toddler games, lol, but it's very old, slow, and the screen is cracked (covered with a tempered glass screen protector for her safety - those things are great). Well, one of her favorite games did an update, and will no longer work on the Tab 2. Not to mention, we're about to go on a 2-days-each-way road trip, and I thought it would be better for her to have something that can handle a bit more, so I picked up this Tab A in the hopes that its os would work for that game. No fears now! It's updating to the latest Oreo as I type! I'm more than pleased at the moment. Plus it fits the toddler friendly case with a handle I'd wanted but couldn't get for the Tab 2.I'll update as we continue on with it!

Super Duper
I received one a couple years ago for Christmas. It is my best friend, as far as electronics go. When I wanted to get one for my husband I came back to this same model. This is really a great tablet - very clear graphics, good sound, touch screen works well. The 10" size is perfect - not too small but not so large as to not be able to hold it with one hand and leave the other free for swiping and tapping. Just be sure to get a protective case for it, as it is very thin and although that is probably a positive feature, it does not make it easy to hang on to.
