This book is known for how terrifying it is and I remember reading lots of reviews that said how mind-blowing this book is.An amazing dyspotian based novel depicting the struggle of lives under the totalitarian rule...𝐖𝐀𝐑 𝐈𝐒 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐄𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐎𝐌 𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐓𝐇Winston Smith works for the Ministry of Truth and his job is to rewrite history . More specially, his job is to erase the real history and write the one that the Outer Party and Big Brother, the mysterious leader with a cult-like personality, deems to be correct. Anyone who does not follow the Party’s rules is arrested and tortured or vaporized.He (Winston Smith) is struggling to find a way to rebel against the party. Then he meets Julia who is another party member (but working in the same company in another department), they had an affair, their relationship came across as a small kinda rebellion against the party.WARNING!!'𝐇𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐔𝐒' : 𝐁'𝐁.....Working, eating, drinking, sleeping, talking, thinking, procreating...in short living, all are controlled by the state. Any hint of obedience or dislike can be detected by various state apparatus such as the Thought Police, telescreen, or even your children, who will not hesitate to betray you to the authorities. Even language is modified in such ways that you cannot express yourself, since individualism is a crime.The past is controlled, rewritten into something that will strengthen the incumbent ruler. '𝙒𝙝𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩, 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚. 𝙒𝙝𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩, 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩'. There is no real truth. The "truth" is what the state says it is. Black is white, 2+2=5, if the state says so.Governments all around the world spy on their people. When Orwell wrote the novel in 1949, he was talking about Stalinist Russia. Now, it can be applied to most countries.In this book, at some points we also find mention of India (and Pakistan-Bangladesh as before partition), at a time when the wars of independence were being fought in India.✨I do believe that like a lot of novels in the 20th century, Orwell imagined the worst-case scenario. Yes, the mass surveillance part was hauntingly accurate ( we willingly let websites and apps track us) but a lot of the other stuff didn’t happen. Ironically, Orwell was right about cult like personality leaders but they are the real ones with power and not the party as Orwell predicted.The novel is over 70 years old and life back then was much different than it is now. A lot has changed and nobody could have guessed how much independency people would have. That also went in the opposite direction of what Orwell predicted, and many other things happened contrary to his predictions.I do recommend people to read the novel because it has a lot of great ideas and some of them are still coming true today. People have come to use this novel to criticize the government over the years. It is also a good reminder of how new technology makes some people think of the worst possible outcome. Can anyone imagine life without a television set? We think them harmless but when they first appeared, many authors thought they would be used to spy on us.Overall a good fascinating read, especially for the dystopians and historians, at the end it leaves you thinking and thinking...........{اگر ہم اس کو مذہبی نظریہ سے دیکھیں، تو بلا شبہ یہ بات عیاں ہو کر آۓ گی کہ اگر دنیا میں دینِ اسلام نہ آیا ہوتا، آپ ﷺ دنیا میں امن و محبت کا پغام لیکر نہ بھیجے گۓ ہوتے اور نور الٰہی سے ظلمتِ عالَم کافور نہ ہوئی ہوتی تو دنیا کیسی ہوتی، لوگوں کا ایک دوسرے کے ساتھ کیسا سلوک ہوتا، بلکل ایسا جیسا (شروع کے چند باب میں) اس میں بیان کیا گیا. بے مُروّت، بے حِس، بداعتمادی، کوئ کسی کا نہیں، ایک دوسرے کے خون کے پیاسے، ظالموں کی حکمرانی، جس میں عوام کو بولنے کا کوئی حق نہیں، چاروں طرف خوں ریزی، بمباری اور کانوں میں ہر پل گولیوں کی گونج... شکر ہے دینِ اسلام جیسی عظیم نعمت پر اور سلامتی ہو آپ ﷺ جیسی عظیم الشان ہستی پر، جس نے دنیا کو اصل انسانیت سکھائی. اور آخر کے چند باب میں ہمیں اس بات کا بھی عکس دیکھنے کو مل جاتا ہے کہ مغربی ممالک میں یہودی کس طرح سے مسلمانوں کے مذہبی نظریات (برین واش) تبدیل کرنے کا کام انجام دیتے ہیں۔}

Must-Read For Everyone
Absolutely loved reading 1984 by George Orwell! This book blew my mind with its gripping story and eerie portrayal of a dystopian future. Orwell's writing is so vivid and thought-provoking, it kept me hooked from start to finish. The way he captures the oppressive atmosphere and the struggles of the characters is just incredible. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a powerful and unforgettable read!

Awestruck
Orwell’s mind is a genius and hence not one to conform to an average societal brain. He disintegrates the world we are heading towards, a world we probably are very much floating in mindlessly so; systematically, helplessly, hopelessly. It’s pages plead or rather scream at us to do something.There’s hardly any light yet something might spark in you if you end up reading this work; however, it must be a mass read; an individual read will be as useless as the protagonist.To say this book is disturbing might be too feeble a description. It has chilled me to the very bones; rendering me hopeless. That’s what Orwell intended, that’s what he accomplished, rightfully so.

Great
This is a book everyone should read atleast once. I am sure , we will never see such dystopian future in our life time , but this book gives a decent idea about what would have happened if we lived in such a world. Initially it may be a bit slow , then it takes up pace in chapter 2 , and be prepared to question yourself about how well you understand the social and political angles of our world . Let me give a spoiler, the end is going to be depressing .Talking about the quality of the package , the pages are of okayish quality, the binding is also good. I got it @109/- during the july sale.

Not entertaining
This book is definitely not for entertainment purposes. I felt like dropping the idea of reading the book in between multiple times. It’s a story of an imaginary totalitarian society. However, what is surprising is that this book was published in 1949 and still relevant. It resembles countries such as China or North Korea a little bit in my opinion.

Excellent price for a wonderful book.
I have a degree in English teaching as a Foreign Language and I love collecting (and reading) authors I have studied about, and literacy classics in English language. I found this offer while shopping for other titles and I am really happy I found this bargain. Everyone should own this book for such a price. It's a must.
