Reference Cinema Dolby Atmos 5.1.4 System

The one thing you should know is that this product is not come with any wiring and you will have to go buy your own. For me 14 gauge speaker wire did fit but it is a bit of a tight fit so I might recommend 16 gauge, unless you're planning on using like 1 inch 14 gauge ferrules. I upgraded from a 7.1 Onkyo surround sound speaker set and these ones are awesome. The satellites have way more bass than I expected and their Dolby effect does work. I'm using it with an Onkyo nr7100 and when I'm listening to music it sounds like I'm sitting in front of a stage. When I'm watching a movie and an airplane is flying overhead it sounds like the airplane is flying overhead. The crossover isn't super good compared to other Klipsch speakers but for the price these speakers are absolutely amazing. I basically have to set the center to 90hz and then the satellites to 100hz and the upward firing ones to 120hz The woofer on the other hand isn't anything to write home about. It's good enough it sounds decent but it doesn't have the punch of other woofers that I've had in the past. I got them for 500 bucks and I think that they're well worth that if you get them cheaper you should absolutely consider it. Just remember that the speakers need a 9.1 system to actually use all of the channels. That said if you have a 7.1 system I would still recommend these speakers. Just use the front two speakers as your Dolby Height 1.

Simply put awesome! Currently not using Atmos feature available with up firring speakers but still incredible sound. We were looking for system to enhance dialog since a lot of times we would miss what was being said while watching movies. This system delivers.

Wow... I just unpacked my Klipsch Reference Cinema System 5.1.4 speakers and what a system. These things ooze sexiness and quality. It's sorta like comparing a Toyota Camry to a Lexus LS. They will both get you there but in totally different ways. I have got to be the king of overkill. I have paired this system to my Onkyo TX-SR508 in my 180 sp ft office. Needless to say this system rocks. I bought some Elite 16/4 cable so setup was a breeze. The sound is clean and clear and the base is strong and lifelike. It might not be as powerful as my other Onkyo, Klipsch surround system but these speakers are an absolute bargain for $500. You can't go wrong...

I could not recommend more highly the two sound components that I purchased on Amazon for my home theater setup. The Klipsch 5.1.4 Dolby ATMOS speakers and Pioneer VSX-534 receiver perfectly harness the abundance of powerful Dolby platforms that are embedded into my new TCL 85-inch S-Class TV that I purchased at Best Buy. I paid $345 for the speakers, $330 for the receiver, and $899 for the TV. $1,574 total and it is phenomenal! (And I hung the speakers with Amazon’s VideoSecu speaker mounts for $24.99.) Pay no attention to the reviewers who don’t get enough bass from the Subwoofer. They clearly don’t have the gain knob on the back of the subwoofer adjusted for the needs. It literally shakes our viewing room (and scares the crap out of our little dachshund!). Also, although I am a fan of Yamaha, I did not get their receiver because Dolby ATMOS is not built into their technology. Installation was a breeze. At first, I followed Dolby’s guidelines of placing the front and rear speakers around 40-inches off the floor, but later moved the rear speakers to a higher position on the rear wall. The center speaker is below the TV on top of the receiver, and the subwoofer is on the floor off to the left of the TV platform . The receiver comes with a microphone to automatically set up the sound levels for surround sound. I used this feature at first, but then I figured out how to adjust each speaker level independently to fine-tune the equal distribution of audio. I use the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K to control both components, but I keep the receiver remote handy to use the shortcut buttons to adjust the dialog and subwoofer buttons. I have included pictures of the front and back of the room, and also a glimpse behind the TV (which is sitting on top of a 3-foot high IKEA shelf unit). We live in earthquake country, so I sunk a heavy-duty eyehook into a stud behind the TV and then attached two M8 stainless steel eyehooks into two of the VESA bracket holes on the back of the set and lashed it all together with stainless steel cable that I had leftover from a deck-build. (The Eopower 5Pcs Male Thread Machinery Shoulder Lifting Ring Eye Bolt was $9.99 on Amazon.)

This system is an incredible value given the price on Amazon. The subwoofer is plenty powerful, and the satellite speakers are quite large compared to similarly priced soundbar surround sound packages. The up-firing option on all 4 satellite speakers also makes the placement variety and options a favorable pro for this set. The plastic material is plenty sturdy albeit not likely to deliver as high of sound quality output as some of the more expensive Klipsch options available...but you get what you pay for. The push-locking speaker wire connections on the rear of each speaker require smaller pin or flex pin style banana plugs instead of traditionally-size banana plugs. These connections could be better...but again you get what you pay for. The removable magnetic fabric grills look and function great as well as the signature copper cones of each speaker. The threaded mounting housing is a little close to the speaker wire connections on the rear of the satellite speakers that may pose a challenge given the smaller type of speaker wire connection required for these speakers.

Excellent sound

I have owned this system for 4 months. This is my first surround sound system ever and man am I glad I resesearched this for 2 years first. This speaker set wasn't even in production when I started looking. I have a small living room area about 12' x 10'. I did not need towers. This kit comes with 4 sattelite speakers, 1 center and 1 powered subwoofer. NO these speakers are not "cheap". NO they are not budget speakers. They did not come from Walmart. I expect quality due to the Klipsch name and that is exactly what you get. These are the nicest plastic housing speakers I've ever seen in my life. There is not one knic or sharp edge on any of the platic housing and everything is built well and solid. The speakers themselves are heavier and larger than they look. The sattelite speakers are about twice the size I expected them to be. The 10" subwoofer is what really makes this system come alive. I like to feel the bass more than hear it so I turned my crossover down to about 65hz. Man.. it punches hard - Shakes my entire couch. I recommend taking the time to learn the basics of home theater setup and crossover and how distances affect listening quality. Set this system up right, and you will have a system that just makes you smile and come back for more. The Best sounding movies on this system so far: Man of Steel (omg) Thor (some addtl tweaking neccesary) Marvel's Avengers Ready Player One So after a while I think the sub sounds better now than it did when it was new. The sound is the best when you watch movies that have either newer Dolby Atmos or DTS. More movies that sound awesome: Kong Skull Island Spectre John Wick 4 Lone Survivor
