Fabulous
I bought this for my dog's sake. She has hind end weakness and has a problem getting up stairs and often will fall backwards. I put one strip on each of the outside steps in the backyard which is not covered so it does get wet when it rains. After one month, one of the strips has now fallen off which is to be expected. I just used a staple gun to put it back in place. She has not falled up or down the steps since I put them there which was my main objective. The strips are nice and wide and even if she doesn't step right on it, if she slides her paw will catch on the strip and stop the sliding. It took her some time to get use to stepping on it as it is basically very coarse sand paper. I had some left so I also used them on my inside stairs which are carpetted but it stuck to them anyway and has not come off at all. This has helped her tremendously and I don't have to fear her falling anymore. I would highly recommend for safety purposes. Only concern is that the traction is provided by a very coarse surface and it will scratch you badly if your bare skin where to come in contact with it. I wouldn't want to walk bear foot on it.

I repainted my RV steps that started to look a bit rusty. I simply cleaned them up and removed the rust with sandpaper and a wire brush. Then I spraypainted the steps with a hammered spray paint which worked great. As the anti slip coverage I used the Gator Grip self adhesive strip. It is as rough as the original and helps to make the step safer. However. I do not suggest to use it on more than 12 inch of length since with heat the strip expands and has a tendency to build a bubble of lift up. So if you use it on a step make it in separate sections of 12 inches or less with a small gap in between sections so that the material can expand and contract with temperature. Other than that it is pretty much like the original anti-skid cover that I had on my entrance steps on my RV. Works great and looks professional when applied correctly.

So Far, So Good
My main purpose for this purchase was to add some traction to the floor of the CycleShell I bought back in October. So far, through seriously wet/damp conditions in May and many rides enjoyed so far, the tape has remained in place. It's good to be able to back the motorcycle onto the CycleShell's floor and not have my boots slipping and sliding on the floor; that, along with the eliminating the potential of laying the bike down because I lost my balance due to the slippery surface of the floor. I have no idea how the tape will fare through the summer heat or through the winter, but, for now it's made a HUGE, positive difference in being able to put the bike to bed after each ride.On to whatever surface the tape is to be applied, be sure to clean the surface really well before applying the tape. I wasn't fancy, I used paper towels and Fantastik and that seems to have been enough.

During the first string of sunny days it worked like a charm
I bought this tape about three months ago, and it is with that much experience I am writing this review. I used this tape on an outdoor ramp used for wheelchair access to the front door, but which is also used for foot traffic. I had high hopes at the beginning, as the tape went on very smoothly and look very professional. During the first string of sunny days it worked like a charm, and it felt good. But the situation changed as the first raindrops appeared. The moisture seemed to make its way under the tape, and the tape gradually separated from the ramp. I kept reattaching and resmoothing it, but all this did was buy a little time. Add some strong wind to the mix, and pieces became entirely unusable. My guess is that this tape would be excellent for either an indoor or constantly dry environment So I'll give it one star for an outdoor environment and four stars for an indoor or dry environment. Splitting the difference (sort of) and taking into account that the tape more or less did its job for a couple of months, I'll settle on three stars.

If you need great grippy traction/friction, Then get this.
Purchased to add friction to the wheelchair lift my dad uses. It does that and more. I recommend that if you do not want raw fingers, Then wear leather work gloves when applying this. It will take skin, nail and yes even bone off your hands. There was enough tape to make two passes on each side of the landing from ramp to ramp. Now my dad has a eight inch wide strip of grip tape on which to drive. The bare aluminum was slick by itself and even more so if it got wet. Its slick no more! Recommended for all sorts of applications where extra traction/friction is needed. The backing is easily peeled off to reveal a heavy duty, industrial glued surface that does not let go once applied. So be sure of where its going before peeling off the backing. I cut it from the paper backing side out to keep from damaging my knife. Very easy to lay out, cut to size, remove backing and apply.

Grip is excellent, adhesion is useless
The surface grip of the product is excellent. This part should last some time. It was easy to cut lengths with a scissors. The problem is the adhesion to the intended surface you want to make non-slip. In my application I was applying strips to a sheet of sandply plywood that had been stained. I was making a indoor wheelchair ramp from the garage into the house for my neighbor. By the time I had the 3rd strip down the 1st strip was already loose at the edges. I applied 16 strips total that day and by the next morning all but 4 were coming up. Decided to re-stick them down and give it a test by running a leaf blower over the ramp from about 15 feet away. When I did that all the strips came off. Since I liked the surface "grip" I decided to take another reviewer's advise and took my pneumatic upholstery stapler and stapled the strips down. Problem solved. So surface grip good, adhesion to intended surface bad, bordering awful. There are ways around this though as posted above.
