42" Heirloom Aromatic Red Cedar Hope Chest, Storage Trunk for Blankets - Amish Made in America (Large, Natural)

It may be odd to comment on the packaging, but most furniture you buy online (whether Amazon or elsewhere), even very expensive ones, come with absolutely horrendous packaging: lots of plastic wrapping and lots of Styrofoam padding that inevitably arrive in a disintegrated state. I've had ones where even months later I was finding little bits of Styrofoam stuck to the furniture or embedded in the carpet. Not so with this item! Everything arrived neatly packed in a cardboard box, with 100% rigid cardboard padding. Practical, clean, and environmentally friendly. I take the chest out of the box, and the box and all the packing material can easily be collapsed and sent to the recycling bin. Zero mess. I want to mention this because I'm sure it cost them more to pack in this way, but it's much more consumer friendly as well as environmentally friendly. It's a gesture that is very much appreciated.The cedar chest itself was perfect: everything arrived safely without a scratch and the craftmanship is simply beautiful! Expensive, yes, but the quality is immediately apparent. You can tell the folks who crafted this take pride in their work. I seriously advise everyone to not waste your time and money on cheap Chinese imitations.My only regret is not choosing the larger size option. I went with the 36" partly out of consideration for the price, but the craftmanship alone is worth every penny!

This chest looks exactly as shown. Very nice craftsmanship. The finish was very nice. The Cedar has that light Cedar smell that keeps my blankets fresh smelling. It came fully assembled and well packed to survive shipping. My only disappointment was I originally tried to order one with a waterfall lid. The vendor contacted me that the last one they has was damaged and they had to cancel the order. I'm impressed that they would not deliver a damaged product just to make a sale. The new one I ordered is still very beautiful and I like the traditional lid on it.

No damage. It has a very rich color of red cedar. I love the beautiful cedar fragrance. The craftsmanship was extraordinary. It’s a beauty. I admire it every time I enter the room. Just love it.

this chest arrived, damage free, exactly as it was described, packaged very well in all cardboard. the 42" is a decent size, I am able to fit 3 king size quilts and a king size sheet set in it. smells fantastic and the items out of it have the cedar smell for a few days! it is durable enough to use as a bench with the lid closed yet light enough one person can move. recommend and will buy again.

Possibly the best purchase I have made on amazon. This is so beautifully finished. I purchased it as a place to store blankets and keep them fresh. I can also store photo albums or whatever. I also really needed a seat for getting dressed and the space is limited in my bedroom. I just cannot believe this product was available through amazon and with free shipping. Simply incredible, Love it!! I have been waiting to buy one of these for quite some time. I really knew how serious they take their pride in craftsmanship due to the packaging of this item for shipping. Really protected. Thanks for the attention to detail and a beautiful cedar hope chest.
