Good
This wasn't for me. But very good.

Less useful than no book at all.
Completely useless. This book was written for the U.K. It includes information no information on panel design and layout. It does include information on how to lace wires with string, a technique abandoned with the invention of plastic wire ties 40 years ago. Do not waste your money. I would give it no stars if that were possible. I wonder why Newnes/Elsevier wastes their production time printing this worthless waste of tree product.

Reprinted 2006 so very old
Contains useful information but overall I thought the book is somewhat dated and lacks some modern techniques. Had expected to see more photos of actual panel layouts with hints and tips, reference to standards rather than, for example, lists of symbols for passive electronic components and details of their construction. Use of modern cable marking systems and cable management would be useful. The low quality images, by todays standards, suit their purpose and help keep the publishing costs down I suppose. May not be to everyones taste.

Two Stars
only worth $10-$15

Far too expensive for this content!
I'm a very generous person to give 3 stars for this book, sorry! It is all due to the price which is ridiculous! I don't like cheeky authors who overvalue their book! Anyway, I'm not sending it back because I can afford to keep it and the content is not bad.....but I strongly advise a price review! 15 GBP....not more.....no way for more! Also, the author should change all the diagrams in the 'third edition' because the quality is awful!
