TAISHAN 3W Mini Aquarium Algae Removal Light With Timer, Waterproof Green Clear Light for Fish Tank, Pond, Swimming Pool

The Amazon delivery person hates me I sure, I get multiple packages daily most days! But I never write reviews. This one I just HAD too! I have spent sooooo much money trying to rid my 60 & 30 gallon tanks of mucky, cloudy water. Water clarification treatments, beneficial bacteria, sludge eating bacteria, water changes, UGH 😩 nothing worked! Then in comes the UV lights. I have a small one inside the filter of my 60 gallon, and a 7-8” one pictured in my 30 gallon (as you can see the smaller tank was much worse). The small bulb is only 1-2” overall, so it wouldn’t fit inside my smaller filter system on my smaller tank. That’s why you see the weird black activated charcoal filter media wrap job I did on it (instructions say to not let the light touch the fish it can cause irritation and damage to their skin) so that is an option if you have a smaller filter. Anyway!!!! These pictures are from only ONE DAY. I didn’t have a chance to snap a pic of the larger tank but I did take the photo seen in my review after a couple hours with the light in it. It was almost the same color water as the smaller tank before!!! The clear water photos are of only 10 or so hours of use of the UV lights. I put them in the night prior when the package arrived, and the After photos are from when I woke up the next morning (today.) I am just absolutely BLOWN AWAY by how well and EXTREMELY FAST these lights worked!!!! If you have an over abundance of bacteria grown, Algae, or just plain cloudy water…. This will hands down be the best purchase you ever made for your Aquariums and fish! I’m not joking. The photos speak for themselves!! Buy it, YESTERDAY! If I had went this route sooner I would’ve saved over $200 in products that just couldn’t get the job done. These UV lights definitely do!!! -Bree Zamora

It worked great for a while. It cleared up the Algie bloom in my small aquarium & it cleared up the white fog in my big aquarium. It was great for about 3 months. It leaked today. I will bury it later.🫩 I still need it so ill get another one , a different brand

Update. Stopped working. Works unbelievably great. We have had to deal with algae. Murky green water. Tried everything to address it. We would have to be switching out 40% of the water every week, which was unhealthy for the fish. Within 24 hours, we noticed a difference. Within 5 days the water is crystal clear Update.

I've been in the aquarium hobby for about 16 years. I know how to instant tank. I redid my reefer 160 and used turbo start by Fritz aquatics. (Great product by the way) and I was having a persistent bacterial bloom. Nothing over the top. Just kind of nerve-wracking and annoying. I had long since thrown away a UV sterilizer that I had purchase many many years ago and I saw the price point in this one and I was like. Let's see if it works. Well it does. It's small form factor and open design allowed it to be placed next to my return pump. Even though it's only three Watts, it does the job. No, I wouldn't use this if it were a major outbreak or something serious like an algae bloom. But for my needs it fit the bill perfectly.

Instead of buying one of those fancy recirculating water bowls with UV in them, for A LOT of money, I dropped this in my cat’s stainless water bowl, and I have genuinely seen a drastic difference in the reduction of biofilm forming. Let’s call it a hack. Generates no heat.

I had to return the first light because the bulb filament was broken. I received a replacement in good working order. I have a 10 gallon tank (kit) and I place the bulb inside the filter container. To keep the tank water clear, I need to turn the light on for 2-4 hours every day. Every other day was not enough. The water had been turning dark green every few days. The light would not clear an already green tank. Now the tank water begins to get slightly green after 4 weeks, when the water needs to be changed and tank thoroughly cleaned for the health of the fish anyway.

Works unbelievably well! I can't believe how it cleared up our fish tank water and kept it clean! The reason for three stars is that it only lasted two months and you can't replace the bulb!
