JC Infrared Illuminator 4 Led High Power LED IR Array Illuminator IR Lamp Wide Angle for Night Vision CCTV and IP Camera

Very impressive, and under $12. I really didn't have high expectations, just hoped to fill in some of the dark areas my cameras IR wasn't reaching. These little lights did that, and so much more. I order 4, but have only installed 2. I could use a 2nd in the backyard, and it would almost clear as day time, in black & white, of course. As is, I can see movement, and tell if it's the dog, a cat, or opossum (to send the dog out after). Can't attest to how long these will last, or waterproofing (no rain yet). Kind expect that some water will get in through the two screw holes on the sides. Going to put some silicone or teflon goo on the screws, and should be good, maybe see what sort of seal we have on the front cover. The light I put shining down my front driveway turns off occasionally, may need to move it some. Seems that my motion activated lights are the cause, which aren't bright enough to help the cameras, but just enough to fool the IR light. Good to know that these shut off in the daytime, and not running 24/7, another unexpected bonus feature. Would have been nice if they had include some specifications. Not sure how much power these use, and my system is on a UPC, battery only lasts 20 minutes, with monitor on. Mostly, the battery backup, is just to keep the power stable, and short blackout/brownouts, that come during thunderstorms, which isn't good for electronics, bad for recording. I don't see any reason why these won't last for a while, they don't seem to run hot, didn't even feel warm the first couple of nights, when I adjusted the direction a few times, just to see what I could get out of them. I don't know about measuring the exact range of effectiveness, but from my back porch, where on is mounted, it lights up most of the yard, all the way to the fence, 50 feet or so away. Buildings across the ally seem better defined as well. Driveway in front is very brightly lit, 25-30 feet. Street lights haven't worked since Hurricane Irma, but still had that dark area next to my carport. Aside from my waterproof concerns, these are solid, well made, very good value. Case and mount are metal, glass cover seems thick. Cable is thick, seems like good quality as well, hopeful holds up to Florida sun, which is kind of rough on insulation. Money well spent, and would buy a couple more, when I find a good deal on another 16 channel DVR (had do downgrade to 8, after the last one died).

So I want to give a updated review on this light. Yes the one I 1st received was defective, so I went ahead and sent it back for a refund. At that time I had already received a different light from another source and it was working great so Thats why I just returned this light instead of having them replace it. But about a week after returning, the company who sold the defective light contacted me and wanted a chance to make up for it and allow me to see how well their product works. So they sent me a new to test out and let me say this little light works far beeter than I expected! I bought two other large lights from another source before all this with a 100+ leds each and this little four led IR light competes with them to my surprise. So do to the performance of the light and the customer service I rate this light at 5 stars. Hope this helps with your decision. I bought this to use with a Amcrest system with 720p 1mp cmos cameras and I dont know if I got a bad one or not. It does turn on, but it does not cast IR light anywhere near as it claims (at all!) You can see the light directly from the light source while looking on the cameras and it cast light maybe 3ft, more comparable to the light casting you get from your cell phone screen, no joke. And after asking many sources about the proper IR wavelength for my cameras I was told 850nm was what I needed. So I ordered a different IR light (CMVision IR 110- 114led,850nm) and just got it today hooked it up once it was dark and it lit my place up very well! I bought this light Im reviewing now because it was cheap and I still wasn't sure what was the IR wavelength I needed and figured if it works that would be great and I had a place that doesn't need a big light and if it didnt no big deal just send it back, but it left me confused being that I could see the light was coming on but was not putting out as it should. Like I said the other light I got is a huge difference and I believe I mite have got a defective light, because when I 1st turned this light on I could clearly see the red glow around the 4 leds and it was day time with my hands cupped around it, later on when I tried at night the lights came on fairly bright and suddenly dimmed quite a lot.. so idk, hope this info helps you.

These units provide a high level of illumination, and a useful range of at least 65ft. They are more effective than the 36-LED and 48-LED illuminators, in both respects - although their housings are larger (possibly making them more difficult and/or more conspicuous to use in certain spaces). The only potential downsides of these illuminators are the difficulty of installation (shared by *all* illuminators having this physical design), and slightly uneven illumination across the illuminated area. The installation difficulty is due to having to dismount the unit from its bracket in order to install the single center mounting screw into the mounting surface, and then having to re-mount the unit onto the bracket, by re-installing the two small side screws. This imposes risk of dropping (and losing) one or both screws, and the risk of losing one's balance on the ladder (because both hands are needed to re-install the unit using the side screws). As mentioned, this issue exists with *all* illuminators that have this type of mounting bracket. I avoid the problem by pre-mounting the entire assembly onto a common mending plate or angle bracket (typically available at hardware stores and home centers), and then using a magnetic-tipped power driver and a suitable screw or two to attach the assembly to the desired mounting surface. Although this unit provides fairly even lighting across its entire illumination area, it does have slight "hot spots". If hot spots are an issue for your application, use of a similar diffused ("no hot spots") illuminator could provide more even lighting, although probably at the cost of dimmer maximum illumination level and reduced effective range. However, I think that the increased range and maximum intensity offered by this unit would be preferable in most situations. I did have one of these illuminators fail a few weeks after it was installed. There was no apparent explanation for the failure, but the seller promptly replaced the failed unit upon notification. I have several other of these units that have been in continuous operation for at least several months without problems, so I think the failure was an exception, and probably not due to any inherent unreliability in this model. Overall, I am very pleased with these illuminators.

My Hikvision PTZ dome camera is under a balcony and I was getting a lot of reflections back into my camera. Now I don't use the built in IR. This IR light really improves the lighting of my street. It's not super discreet, you can see a slight red glow if you are looking right at the light. My iPhone camera exaggerates the "purple" color of the lights as seen in the pictures. I like that that they are small. I used a splitter to connect two lights to one power 12v power brick. Just be sure to have at least 1amp. It has been through a few rain storms over the past 6 months and seems to holding up quite fine. Pros: Small Dusk / Dawn activation (light sensor) Bright (for the camera) Inexpensive Cons Could use better weather housing around the screw holes Light could be better diffused IR lights are slightly visible when looking at light I purchased two and would purchase them again.

All in all, for what few minutes it was active, it seemed to illuminate beautifully, and definitely worked well for some recently acquired, 1960s era Polish PNW-57 Night Vision Goggles... That is, until the damn thing stopped working... I don't know why it cut out the way it did to be honest. I thought it was a faulty connection of the wire on my part as I wired it on the input of the goggles' 12v - 24v transformer, but no, it wasn't that. The wires were well secured, with correct polarity, and should have had no issue with anything. I mean, they were basically directly wired to the 12v battery I was using. But anyway, they flashed on and off briefly for about 5 seconds, and then went out. Naturally, I took it apart to see if I found anything wrong with it, and a horrid smell of burnt electronics came upon me... And after looking inside, I saw what looked like some real cheap manufacturing for cutting costs. Screw holes in place that had no screws whatsoever. Only 2 screws on each corner of the circuit board were holding it place, and the light array fixture itself was quite literally being held on by a single screw, despite there being two areas to accommodate two separate screws. I don't know, it all looked really poorly made. Not to mention how hot the light fixture plate actually got when I looked into the lamp. It was so hot, that it actually re-melted the hot glue securing the wires behind the sensor. Not even joking about that. It was all just really bad. And the more I'm looking around amazon here for a good quality IR lamp, I'm beginning to notice that all the lamps that look like this (including those square shaped ones), or have similar focus lenses in their design, are really all manufactured by the same company (or perhaps sister companies) in China. And they all have the same faults. Others have said the same from what I've been reading on. TL;DR - The lamp is poorly made and cheaply manufactured and will no doubt stop working on you, even if you do everything right. It's a shame that there are no genuinely good lamps that look similar to these that can actually function, within this price range. I really like the design of these visually, but all in all, if the product fails to work as it should, then there's no point in trying to use it, or defend it. I should have taken heed of the negative reviews for these products.

I bought two of them but took me a month to get around to installing. One was dead once I tried to use it. The other one works great. I will buy another one to replace the dead one, they do work great... if they work.

Sturdy construction and very easy to install. It gives off a lot of light, which is surprising because of its small size. It does have a far reach and provides great clarity. I would definitely buy again, great price. FUNCTION: It has more of a spot light effect, more of a focused output instead of a wider, flood light type of effect. However, it's not TOO focused to where it's like a flash light, but it won't light up the entire screen either, when you view your camera's feed. For my purposes, its fine. If you need to completely light up a specific area, this will be perfect. If you need a flood light type of light to light up the entire yard or the entire field of view of your camera, then this isn't the one for you (unless you buy 2 or 3 and arrange them).

I was checking into my past orders and I couldn't believe that there were a lot of bad reviews on this item, when I've had nothing but great experience with them. Once I started reading the reviews, I could see why: many of them were written by a lot of people that don't know what they are doing! For example: most of the ones that didn't work right out of the box were probably trying to use this item with CMOS cameras and they don't know that theses don't work with most CMOS cameras, but will work with most CCD cameras! Here is my experience: I was buying the 48 pc IR arrays and they only last 3-6 months, but when I changed to these, I not only got more and better lighting, they lasted a lot longer. For example: I have 5 of these, with one being 6 yrs. old, with another one 5 yrs. old and the others are 4 to 3 yrs. old and NO failures! I seldom write reviews, but when I see something as skewed as bad as this is, I had to say something!!! Just a note: I started building my security system 11 yrs ago, so I have a little experience with security cameras..........

I have had two of these working in temperatures from -35 to +35 C since purchase in 2018. Much better than the built-in night vision.

La uso da una settimana con ottimo risultato. Il fascio luminoso è piuttosto concentrato e abbastanza forte da illuminare bene almeno una quindicina di metri. Avevo però bisogno di una maggior diffusione della luce, dovendo illuminare diffusamente un'area inferiore ai 10 metri, per il videocitofono. Ho semplicemente svitato il la parte anteriore che contiene il vetro esterno e ho messo al suo interno una carta velina, preventivamente ritagliata a cerchio, in modo che la luce emessa dai diodi passi attraverso di essa. Questa piccolissima operazione mi ha permesso di illuminare tutta la scena in modo ottimale. Le due foto sono a dimostrazione di quanto detto. Si tenga presente che nella seconda, per via della minore intensità della luce IR concentrata, provoca anche una maggior apertura dell'obbiettivo per cui l'immagine risulta tutta più ricca di dettagli. Aggiornamento: dopo 6 mesi di utilizzo continuo, l'illuminatore funziona ancora perfettamente.

Buen alcance de luz, ayudo mucho en la visión nocturna. Pongo 3 estrellas ya que la publicidad es engañosa, no son 4 piezas (lamparas), son 4 leds, compre 2 pensando que iban a llegar 8.

This little unit is pretty good! Especially for the price. Gives out a good wide angle of illumination with no bright spot. Works fine with my Swann camera.

Funcionan muy bien. La luz no abre mucho pero desde 6 metros ilumina claramanete un area de uno 3 o 4 metros de ancho, ideal para rincones y angulos muertos.
