Beautiful and heavy set of metal polyhedral dice.
These come in a nice metal tin. The graphics on the tin is very subdued and is a striking contrast with the dice inside. The interior of the tin is lined with some high density EVA foam. The main tray is die cut with spots for each die. Some of the spots are rather tight fitting and others, like the spot for the D4 are extremely loose to facilitate actually being able to remove the dice from the tray. The lid is a very tight fit so you don't have to worry about it coming off easy and having your dice rattle around banging into each other excessively, and ruining their finish early. The dice themselves have a very nice heft to them. The edges are well defined, yet not sharp. The corners on the dice get significantly sharper the lower the number of faces on the polyhedrons. There is a classic saying about D4s made from other materials and that is they are the caltrops of dice. Well that is not more true than with these. The points of the D4 are dangerously pointed. If you were to drop this on the floor and accidentally step on it, I'm fairly certain you would end up in the hospital get stitches in your foot. Just putting light to moderate pressure on the top with your bare hand gets uncomfortable really quickly. They look to be made from a plain steel, with some red resin filling in the voids around the numbers. Then coated with some kind of heavy duty varnish, with a slight tan/light brown hue to it, and a high gloss finish. The numbers are all distinct and easy to read. However the finish of the varnish is not consistent, and there some high spots where something got on the dice, like a small piece of dust or dirt. I'm guessing that the faces are filled with the red resin, allowed to cure and then the faces are sanded to remove the excess resin. After this I'm guessing they get the finish coat. However there are small bit of the red resin caught in the clear finish, up on the edges of the bare metal, leaving ever so slight imperfections. The dice are very satisfying to roll as there is definitely some gravity to them and you feel like you are really rolling some real dice, unlike some very lightweight acrylic/resin dice I've used. I would not recommend rolling these on any table top which you don't want to damage and I would highly recommend rolling these in some kind of dice tray to protect your tabletop. Also I don't know what the varnish coat is made from, so I don't know how much rolling these can stand up too rolling a lot and banging into each other often. I suspect that the varnish will eventually will begin to flake off with extended use.All said and done I'm very impressed with these, even though I'm not normally a fan of metal dice, because I'm always concerned will damage tabletops. I'm happy to have these and will just resign myself to always using a dice tray for rolling them.

Decent dice with a so-so paint job
I've really enjoyed the metal dice craze of the last few years. I have a LOT of metal dice, to the point where my wife just found the first set we ever got and we started comparing how far they've come since then. These dice are certainly...some of them. The dice themselves are decent quality. They have nice heft, a good font, and nice clean edges. I also appreciate that they're not oversized, which seems to be a big thing lately. But that's kind of the end of the nice things I can say about them. The black background looks cheap, like it's raising up around the numbers a bit. I'm not sure if that's because the metal underneath is uneven, but it's noticeable. The color variation that looks kind of iridescent in the images is actually just painted on, and the blends aren't very good in a few places, making it super obvious. Basically, they look nice from a distance, but as soon as you're up close, the quality issues are apparent. You can get much nicer dice for this price, but you probably won't know which ones are nice until you hold them in your hands. These are ok, they'll add a bit of style to your table for everyone but you, since you'll be close enough to see the flaws.

High Quality Metal
RULE DICE DND Metal Dice Set (Red/Plating Black)This is a lovely set of solid metal dice with red enamel plating and black numbers and edging. The combination of colors is beautiful--this would be great for a fighter or a warlock, I feel, depending on type and background--and the both the enamel and the metal are very shiny and easy to read under lighting. Note that these are solid metal, not hollow, so be careful when you roll them because they are plenty heavy!NOTE: This review is based on a free advance review product provided through Amazon Vine.~ Ana Mardoll

Gorgeous
RULE DICE Metal DND Dice SetThis is a really beautiful set of metal dice. The black background is a shiny smooth enamel. The edges and numbers are that rainbow "oil slick" chrome that looks so sharp. These are easy to read and nicely heavy; if you like to break the table when you roll, these will fit the bill precisely. I would love to use these for a warlock or a wizard, as the black and rainbow combination is so magical.NOTE: This review is based on a free advance review product provided through Amazon Vine.~ Ana Mardoll

don't need the tin
The dice are very nice, beautiful color, fairly easy to read, very nice heft. They are heavy.A small thing: the tin they come in, the lid fits way too tight on that, and you can't help but scratch the paint on the outside of the tin a bit when opening and closing it. Also the foam cutouts to hold the dice in place inside it are made from a really heavy mold, so they are stiff and hard to pry in and out.I just tossed the tin, that isn't what I was interested in here, and you probably aren't either, but I mention it just in case.

Hard to read, but otherwise quality
The black plating against the red can be hard to read under certain lighting conditions with these dice, but the quality otherwise is quite good. After a lot of rolling on the d20, it feels evenly weighted so I was getting a good distribution on rolls. The paint quality feels good, too. These don't feel like it'll flake or anything, so that's good. Overall pleased with these so long as I can read the numbers.
