A nice, medium level model (but the tiny 'handles' for the armor side plates are finicky)
I tried this Stug to get started making models of German WWII armor. It went together nicely, as most Tamiya models do, has good details, and was fun to paint. The only really finicky part was properly aligning and cementing the little 'handles' used to hang the armor plates. They're teensy, tiny, and fragile, so cutting them off the sprue can easily lead to losing several, and cementing them into place so they fit the teeth that hold them to the side racks is very exacting.

Lot of fun
This was my first model ive ever made. I had a blast. Theres some really small pieces to it but its not too bad. Buy some of the tamiya files, they help a ton!

Another great Tamiya kit for an even better price.
I received this one for Christmas and was pleased by the usual Tamiya quality. Everything looked perfect and it is about a mid-level assembly kit. The commander's pose is very good looking and I didn't have any problems assembling him except for flash, which takes nothing but 4 minutes of sanding. The add-on/optional cement blocks were fun, and the plastic adheres to paint very well. I painted it in a dark-ish autumn camouflage loosly based on the "ambush" pattern. It comes with those rubber tracks that you heat and meld together, not piece by piece tracks that some people swear by and others go insane trying to piece together. Overall a 5 star, solid Tamiya kit, regardless of its age, and I definitely recommend buying it.

Authentic attention to detail!
Another great WW2 model from Tamiya. Plenty of details throughout, with easy to follow instruction. My 11 yr old son and I chose this model and the M41 Walker Bulldog to build together. It's one of the more complex model he's ever worked on, but enjoying the learning process of prepping, priming, painting and assembly, and there's plenty to do for both of us. Some tiny parts require a steady hand with tweezers, and some patience. We are watching some historic film footage, and deciding on what paint scheme to do...maybe even a simple diorama might be fun!
