Great set to start off
With this you can make your own tongs and tools with scrap and or metal stock.Hammer is an excellent tool and the tong is well made. So you should get plenty of years from them.

3 hit wonder
Used my hammer today and after 3 hits the head of the hammer flew off. The head survived the heat from the metal but it isn't attached to the wooden handle with anything but a little glue. Very disappointed with this purchase.

Hammer bad. tong decent
like alot of the other reviews, the hammer falls apart if used, though the tong are decent for the price. Having read the reviews I was prepared, when it arrived gave the hammer head a couple of taps with another hammer and it fell right off. Didn't even have any glue holding it on. Took a saw and split the top that goes under the hammer head. slathered it in glue, both inside and out. put the head back on and hammered a wooden wedge to spread the top and lock the hammer head in place. after letting it dry over night have had no problems. So with about 15 min of work to fix it it came out to a decent deal for the price.

Hammer broke on second strike
Bought this a while ago when I bought a metal forge to use during the winter months. The hammer broke on the second strike. My return window has already closed so I can’t return it. Bought a different one at a hardware store near me. The tongs seem to work though. I would not recommend this item.

Hammer broke 1st day
Got this as a part of my Son's forge set up for Xmas...Got everything set up, heated some steel and started banging away! I heard a 'ting', looked over and the head of the hammer had popped off and was laying on the floor after about 25-30 hits. Closer inspection it looks like it was glued on using Elmers school glue. Going to try to use a commercial grade epoxy to repair.
