what size is the waist on the medium

I'm a 32 waist and the medium fit pretty well, maybe a little tight buy not so tight that I would want to return them. I'd say they would work for a 30-32 waist.

Do I have to wear underwear with this or just wear the whole gitup as underwear? I'm training bjj

It’s best if you wear it as underwear. I train BJJ also and use the same system.

how many inches is the medium size?

Medium 31" - 34" (77-86cm) Hope that helps, let us know if you have any questions!

Do the shorts have any padding? Thanks for any help given

No padding, but they do have a built in 4-strap jock and draw string in waist band. Thanks!
