I own 4 of these, the oldest of which is probably 6 years old and use daily with no issues.

Solid product. About a year later the cable had 2 broken strings. I contacted the manufacturer and they said they would replace the part that was damaged and apologized. I was willing to pay for it and they said no. 3 days later a brand new one came in the mail, no charge.This is the proper way to provide service. The product was solid, but the service was GOLD. I have a crew of 25 guys and 20 of them ordered them, mainly because of the quality of the: Product and SERVICE!Don't change the way you treat you customer's.

Truly a 4.5 star product, but Amazon doesn't give me that option. Marked down 0.5 star for its size and this brand not offering a medium-sized retractor with the same heavy duty quality.This is otherwise an outstanding product made of high quality and is everything the manufacturer advertises. I originally bought a KEY-BAK "heavy duty" retractor and it broke in literally two uses. The carabiner clip broke off. This one is FAR better designed with the velcro strap. The quick-release design of the gear holder clip is innovative and strong. There is no wiggling or rattling as all parts fit together solidly.I went with the lower priced, KEY-BAK first and was sorry I did. Don't make the same mistake. The quality comparison isn't even in the same ballpark and is well worth the additional few dollars. This is BMW (T-Reign) vs. Chevrolet (KEY-BAK).

These are perfect for wheelchair users to attach items to your chair. I use this to secure a special quad reacher so that it's always available to me.Pros:* Very strong spring that keeps heavier items retracted.* Velcro makes it easy to attach.Cons:* Somewhat pricy, but I found these come in 3 sizes. The small one is $15 which is actually a better price point. I just ordered a small one to secure my wallet.

***Update 6/11/18 *** It finally gave out. I am one month from it being used for 3 years. Still my most cost-effective work purchase. The cable gave out before the Kevlar draw cable did...see pic.*** This the best money I have ever spent for work. I was spending 8 to 10 a month on junk retractors my employer sells in their stores. I am over a year with this one on my belt and still works perfectly. My peers at work have purchased too. Absolutely recommend. Worth more than 5 stars in my and my peers opinions. Thanks for making a great product.

The pictures and listing are for the "Boomerang Tool Co." Gear teather(The branded sticker is easily removed by the way) but the teather housing does show that it is manufactured by T-Reign). I own a couple of the large carabinier style T-Reign gear teathers and they are excellent quality. HOWEVER... The clip that is attached on to the back of this teather is very low quality & a very cheap metal. I have seen thicker & better quality belt clips on old school janitor keychains. It is "attached" with a single philips head screw. Which allows the body of the gear teather when clipped on your belt to freely rotate 360°. Not something I particularly cared to have happen. I tried to tigthen the screw but it did nothing to stop it from rotating. I was able to stop the rotation by unscrewing the clip and placing a small rubber o-ring between the clip and the teather housing.

I absolutely love these. I use mine with my box cutter all day everyday. I recently bought more for my coworkers. I've tried so many other one's and none can compare. It has the perfect retraction force for easy cut box cutters. The others that I tried either had way too much or not enough. This one is awesome! I've had mine for about a year, and it still works just as good as the day I got it.

Four months of regular use the logo has come unglued and finally the "multipurpose tether" has snapped, Need a replacement really. Considering it's actually cheaper on the manufacturers website I'm starting to question the authenticity.

Had to open it up and grease its internals as it screeches a lot. Otherwise it's very good. Since I had it open I put a bit more pressure in the spiral coil spring and now it holds and retracts more weight without issues.

I was looking for a retractable device that would allow me to attach an important tool to my body in case it slipped from my hands. For the first couple days I thought this t-reign retractable was the best thing ever...unfortunately it cracked and broke on the piece that holds the wire and the wire now pops out...too bad since that is the piece that connects the tool to the reign. Pretty much useless now.
