Work smart around electricity, get these tools!
I received this item free as an Amazon Vine reviewer and this is my honest review. I only request items I will actually use, and use I do, prior to writing a review.Let me start this review by stating at no time did I test the insulating properties of any of these tools, and I hope I never do. That being said, I do work around some energized wiring, switches and outlets from time to time as the service I am doing requires testing while operating. In the past I have resorted to wrapping a screwdriver with electrical tape to provide some (maybe) short circuiting protection. This insulated tool set gives me much more piece of mind. This is a nice and complete set (pictured), and includes a variety of screwdrivers, all with insulated shanks. The tips are well ground and engage firmly in screws. The handles are contoured and fit very well in my hand (pictured), are balanced, and provide plenty of grip for torque. The various pliers are well made and have solid joints. The side cuts are ground even (pictured) and easily cut through 12/2 wire. I like that the handle covers are over molded, which are very comfortable under hard squeezing, and they have ears at the top (pictured). These help keep your hand from sliding up while working on something powered and making you do the sparky dance. Throw in two rolls of electrical tape and a contact circuit tester in the included zippered case and you have a good set. My only complaint is I am not a big fan of the elastic bands that hold the tools in this case as they are a pain to use.As I do at the end of all my reviews, I ask myself if I would actually purchase this item. Yes, if you have a need for insulated tools this is a very nice set for the money.

Seems great for the price.
Shipping on this insulated tool set was super fast. The screwdrivers and pliers all came in a decent storage case. The case seems to be good quality. The screwdrivers seem to be good but the heads are not the best quality. Over time I see the heads on the Phillips stripping out if you are using a lot of torque. This is something I do because I work industrial maintenance. When installing relays, power supplies, VFD, PLC, input and output cards or anything else you want to make sure they are tight or vibration can cause them to loosen up over time and give the machine issues. I don’t normally work on any thing live unless it’s control voltage or something that is 24V. Safety relays or switches are really the only thing that may be live. I like using insulated tools because it gives you that added safety feature. No matter what when I’m inside a control panel whether it’s disconnected with a lockout on I’m still using insulated tools. These pliers and screwdrivers get the job done for me. All the pliers seem to be really good quality. They are insulated just like any of the major brands I have. They all look the same just different name. Again it’s jut the screwdrivers that seem like the tips may strip over time with torque. ThTs just my opinion but I’ve used tools my whole life and I know quality when I see it. Either way this is a great set for the price. I’ve used them with no issues. Just remember to take care of your tools and use the right tool for the right job. Don’t go using a insulated tool for a job that don’t require it. That is the fastest way to ruin a good tool and I’ve seen it some time and time again. Would I recommend this set. You bet. In my personal opinion this is a really good tool set for the price.

DIY
As a homeowner I find myself working on various electrical projects and it’s can be a challenge finding what breaker goes to a specific circuit. Thus on the off chance there’s still live wires, these tools will certainly help protect me from any potential shock. The carrying case is very sturdy and everything is neatly arranged. The manufacturer included a number of different sized screw drivers along with pliers, cutters, etc. All of which have a very thick coating on them, and from my knowledge is what helps protect you from electricity. While I’m not particularly fond of the color scheme it does stand out and are easily identified among my standard tools. Thus it’d be very hard to mix these up. For what it’s worth I think it’s a great value - Looks like the main rating is 1,000 volts, although it was tested up to 10,000. Give it a try!

Using These Can Save You Many $$$ and Frustration
I was a technician for years and you learn really fast what happens when you get in a hurry and grab a normal screwdriver to stick down into the guts of a piece of equipment to make "a fast adjustment" and short out the power supply or some other valuable component. This is what you need to be using anyplace where you need to stick a tool into an area with other powered up components. It was priced well and since I knew I had some electrical projects coming up in the near future I figured it was time I invested in some insulated tools and this set was well done and a real value. 5 Stars

Full Hot Kit.
This is a great way to have a hot kit in your toolbox! It includes all the commonly used tools for simple hot work. They are well made with nicely ground tips. The pliers are sturdy with just enough spring to the steel.Very nice and OSHA approved, and it's a lot cheaper than an OSHA fine. Please use these only after understanding what they provide protection from and you have a good understanding of live electric work, if not read up or hire a pro. You only have one life, and these can save it when used correctly!

If you do any electrical work, this is a good buy.
At some point we all think about doing electrical work on our home or an appliance or whatever - insulated tools that are rated for electrical work are good to have around for those times. Not a bad idea to take a few classes if you're leaning this way, but whether you're a pro or a tinkerer these tools will help keep you safer.Get this kit (or one like it). Your loved ones will be glad you did.Highly recommended.
