Worth buying for kids.
As a parent always encourages my kid to learn sciences and technologies, I always buy legos and robots to open new horizons for him. this model not just a toy, it is really a perfect educational model that helps you to tell your kid much valuable information while constructing the robot and let him wonder and ask about many things and know more about what you are doing. the toy comes with a group of zip logs and stickers to keep the small pieces that learned my son categorization. all pieces are numbered and colored in addition to the simple and helpful guide, we followed the guide step by step until finish the robot. my son is 9 years old but he needed my help, The parts do take a bit of effort to clip apart so a good pair of cutters and a nail file are required. but I really love it more than he expected, I spent a lovely time with him learning and building our first solar robot.

Love The Variety. Instructions Need To Be Color Coded
I got this for my 10 yr old Granddaughter who LOVES this kind of STEM building kit. I have yet to give it to her but wanted to give a preliminary review as she's still working on another robot and won't get to this right away. Having watched her construct several of these I have a good idea about how these kits work.I docked a star because while the instructions are well drawn out, they are all in black and white. It REALLY helps to have each piece in the instructions color coded to match the color of the actual pieces. So while this is only 190 pieces (small by comparison to some we have worked with) I would suggest that you look for a kit with color coded instructions for your first project. See photos when considering if your child will be able to work with this kit.Other than that I love that she has 12 options for robots and that she can learn a bit about solar power in the process. Whether you kid likes zombies, beetles, puppies or crabs, they will find a robot that will entertain them once they are finished constructing this.I can't make up my mind if I like the fact that they included baggies and labels for the parts or not...all the other kits we have worked with have already done this for you. With this kit, you have to snap all the pieces off and clean up any burrs that are left. So that's an extra step to consider. My only *mild* grumble (which I wish I could dock 1/2 a star for) is that I wish the box opened up like a tray. This one only opens on the sides. Having done several of these, having the "tray" option really helps to keep everything together and easily accessed both during construction and when storing between construction time. As it is I'll have to dig out a storage bin for this once she starts on it. You REALLY need to keep all the pieces safe as losing even one can screw up the whole process.
