This heat sensitive coffee mug is so cute! I had to immediately try it out. It is black with little eyes peering out at you. When you fill it with a hot beverage, it begins to change into smiley emojis from the bottom up; since the bottom gets hot first. I really liked watching the black cup fade to a full color coffee cup. It only took a few moments for the cup to begin to change and about 60 seconds for the full color change. Of course; during the color change, you can see from the pictures below that the smileys were a dull yellow but began to acquire an orange tint as the mug temperature was increasing. My pictures don't actually show the orange tints as well as I would like them to because the lighting in my house isn't optimal for the best pictures. However, it stayed colored for a while and then when I washed it with cold water, it quickly changed back to black. This is the perfect gift for anyone who has everything and wants nothing, like my Grandma. She will be 'tickled pink' when she gets this for Christmas and will probably show it off to everyone who comes over. This mug will also make a great gift exchange or party favor gift. Be advised that these type of mugs are not dishwasher or microwave safe; otherwise, the art and heating changing ability could get damaged.

I like my mugs ok but was just a little disappointed that although they do turn color when hot luquid is poured in, they do not turn as bright pretty a yellow as pictured. Not woth my returning them. Just a little disappointed. Thank you!
