Now that school has started for me I am wearing a mask for the better part of most days. I quickly found out that the elastic bands that go behind your ears would start irritating my skin and eventually cause an open wound that never heals because of constant new damage.I pictured something in my head that would solve my problem and figured "someone's already invented it for sure." A little creative google searching later and I found these little guys. The design is much better than what I had designed in my head. It's made from a rubber/plastic type material with little nubs. You put your mask on like normal, then you reach behind your head and place the device. You stretch each ear band and attach to one side of the device and voila! no more elastic touching your skin.The only downside is something that probably only affects me. I happen to have a very distinguished nose (a huge honker) and this item pulls back on the mask a little more then normal so certain features are accentuated. In a toss up between having my ears constantly rubbed raw or having my nose pitch a tent with my mask, I'll take the tent every time.

This is a great alternative if you hate clipping mask loops to your hair and if earloops don't cooperate with your ears. I was able to keep my KN95 tight on my face this way. It's also easy to remove. It works best if you have a bump like a ponytail or bun on the back of your head so the strap can lie right on top of it. Having the strap at the back of your neck might not pull the mask tight enough.

I have hearing aids and wear glasses so the mask straps behind my ears was too much.The mask extender put the straps behind my neck and not tangled with glasses and hearing aids.
