Product Description Includes the A-sides of all 16 S&G singles to make the Billboard charts, as well as three B-sides and one album cut. desertcart.com Augmenting 1972's Greatest Hits with additional tracks, Best of... now stands as the preeminent one-disc introduction to the music of Simon & Garfunkel. Containing everything Greatest Hits offered except for the live version of "59th Street Bridge Song" (the original studio hit resurfaces here) and the incandescent "Kathy's Song," the updated retrospective boasts 20 tracks, in contrast to its predecessor's 14 selections. Added to the mix are the likes of "Hazy Shade of Winter," "The Only Living Boy in New York," "Song for the Asking," and "My Little Town," a one-off the twosome did five years after they ended their phenomenally successful partnership. Remastered from the original source tapes, Best of... also boasts far superior sound to the earlier hits collection. --Steven Stolder Review: Excellent Theme Music for the Most Tumultuous Era in the Annals of the World - Admittedly before MY time these two thoughtful artists provide the musical backdrop for the tumultuous 1960s and its wars, social upheavals',drug emergence, and the Space Race. As in spite of all the wild times of their adolescence and young adulthood together they recount to me,both of them are currently over 70 years-old and remain close confidants after surviving side-by-side through the chaotic times this album pays homage to!! Review: Such terrific music - This album really takes me back to the 70s when I was a teenager. I loved Simon & Garfunkel then and I love them even more now. I am enjoying this compilation of their hits very much.

This is timeless music at a fantastic value. Great for music students. Perfect packaging by Amazon.
I bought this cd for my 15 y.o. daughter because she heard "The Sound of Silence" on the radio and loved it. She is in chorus and also plays piano so I thought the songs would be interesting to her. So glad I purchased it because she loves all of the music and is now playing many of the songs on the piano. This is a great example of timeless music, and with 20 tracks on the cd and it costing well under $10 it was a terrific value. Amazon packaged this cd in a very snug and secure corrugated cardboard wrap and it arrived to me in perfect condition. I subscribe to Amazon Prime and received the package in 2 days, as promised. The cd includes The Sound of Silence, Homeward Bound, I Am A Rock, The Dangling Conversation, Scarborough Fair, The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feeling Groovy), A Hazy Shade Of Winter, At The Zoo, Fakin' It, Mrs. Robinson, Old Friends, The Boxer, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Cecilia, The Only Living Boy In New York, Song For The Asking, If I Could, For Emily Whenever I May Find Her, America, My Little Town.

LOVE Simon and Garfunkel.!!
Grew up with Simon and Garfunkel. Their music is comforting to listen to - as well as Singing-a-Long to. The CD case was in GOOD condition and the CD plays well in my CD player. Recommend this CD.

Simon and Garfunkel were probably the best exponents of the folk/rock idiom to come along in the late 1960's. Their songs told stories; their lyrics weaved images that we could relate to. Their voices were totally suited to the songs they sang and blended together beautifully. This CD has all of their top songs including "The Sound of Silence" and "Mrs. Robinson", two numbers that were used very effectively in the film, "The Graduate". My only regret is that this compilation of their best material does not include "Richard Corey"...the story of the spoiled rich kid who eventually shoots himself.
