Discovering Your Talents
I love baseball and I enjoy great baseball stories. BROTHERS AT BAT is one such story. While this is a children's book, it's the only book I am aware that tells the story of the Acerra Brothers. The Acerras were an all-brother baseball team that played semi-professional baseball from 1938-1952. There are 29 recorded baseball teams in the United States that were made up entirely of brothers, but the Acerra Brothers played together as a team longer than any of the others. In 1997 the brothers (7 of which were still alive at the time) were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. I really enjoyed BROTHERS AT BAT and the small piece of baseball history that it reveals. Recommended for baseball fans of all ages.

Beautiful story
This is a beautiful story about acceptance. I love that it has a happy and hopeful ending. It allowed me to start a conversation with my daughter about being different from your peers and still having your own beauty and potential.

Emotional
This book manages to convey a deep sense of sadness and isolation within a few words and simple imagery. It's lovely and the end is uplifting but it is so very sad in parts! My 4 year old daughter turned her head into my shoulder last time I read it to her and started to weep because she felt so sorry for the blue penguin. I might just put it to the back of the shelf for a while.

Tears in your eyes
We bought this book for our grandsons second birthday. He loves it. He likes penguins. His favourite soft toy is a penguin. The book itself is beautifully illustrated and the story brings tears to your eyes. Would recommend for any small child.

It's ok to be different
A lovely illustrated book and a story that can teach children how individuals who are different should be accepted for who they and what they can teach us. Very relevant at a time when being different can affect children so much.
