I am looking for the same type of cherries. Did you find a pitter that worked?

Q: Can you load the cherries with the stems and are the stems removed at the same time?

No. Remove stems before washing the cherries.

Q: How do you take this apart for cleaning? There is a picture that says you can but there are no instructions for how to do this.

The bottom tray comes out. The rest of it I just rinsed off. It is plastic and there is no reason you could not immerse it in soapy water as I see it.
