Fully charge it before first use.
I purchased some 26650 Li-Ion batteries to repair a mobility scooter. I bought this to replace the batteries because they wouldn't solder properly. The first weld didn't go too well because I was in a hurry. After charging it, it welded the rest of the batteries flawlessly on the half-power setting. after buying the batteries AND the welder, I saved OVER $500. Would gladly buy it again.
