Anectodal Environmental Stories in American History
Besides having an inaccurate title, I actually found this book to be an interesting read. I enjoyed the W.P.A. Essays and historical papers and letters used by Ms Merchant. I was disappointed by the lack of science behind the "environmental" problems, specifically, Rachel Carson's 'Silent Spring'. I realise that this book is meant to be a social science book, but it would have been better to have included more of the science that is the cornerstone upon which these problems are based.

Book in poor condition
I rented this book for a class. I expected that it would probably have some wear and tear and some notes on the pages, but the front cover was almost completely disconnected from the book and the bottoms of the pages were ripped.

Very Worthwhile.
Very well constructed history and discussion of Environmental history relative to the American experience. Both enjoyable and informative, a very worthwhile read for anyone who wises to understand the historical contexts for the current understandings of environmental problems of America.

Textbook
The textbook came quickly and was in great condition. There were no issues or problems with the order. And for a text book it was as interesting as it could be.

Perfect for students!
I found this book extremely helpful during my studies at university. It's divided into easy chapters, with clear information and very useful essays, and it was a book I constantly referenced in my essays. The only snag is because the essays tend to be from other sources, it can make it a bit awkward to reference in full, but that's just a minor thing, espeically when you consider the in-depth information this book provides. It is a heavy book, and the pages can tear easily, but other than that, it was great.
