Gives Your Music That Big Studio Edge
The Apogee Duet is a wonderful product. I've been recording for years and have sung on many records, commercials and films. Apogee was part of just about every studio that I've recorded around the world. To take that same technology and put it in a portable unit where now it can be used with the technology of today is pretty amazing. Today's technology with ProTools, LOGIC, Digital Performer, Reasons, etc having the Apogee Duet as a companion is well worth it. It will make your music 'radio ready'. I've done many duets in the course of my career, and I'm happy to now have this 'duet' interface as one of my studio companions. :-)

So far so good. I'm replacing a Fast Track Ultra which was impaired by the Mac El Capitan upgrade and seems to be a legacy product for its current owners. 90% of the time, this is an audio interface for some Fostex monitor speakers I bought. The other 10% of the time is to act as a recording interface. Easy to set up. Output sound is just awesome. Looking forward to some heavy recording sessions using my iPad. Very cool!

Apogee is great, amazon to blame
Really Amazon are to blame here. I also received old stock that says it's from January 2013. There is no lighting cable and I'm also worried about the fact the actual unit is an older model. I called apogee and they sent me a lightning cable right away, but I'm still uneasy about keeping the box as someone said below maybe it's an older unit that will freeze or something, so far so goo. And again apogee is making a phenominal product so for them I give 5 stars. Amazon itself is to blame in this matter for trying to schlep off old stock and not updating its supply, I'm very unhappy with amazon int his situation, again apogee will send you one of the cables if you call them, they are a great company..

Great interface
Great sound capture with lots of volume, The meters are really nice and maestro has worked without a flaw, Easy to work with on Ipad as well. Don't buy it because of midi, it's just a USB port you might as well plug your midi into your computer.

Terrible software support - good sound quality though
I'm running a mac with Catalina connecting an external GPU. The sound lags very badly with an eGPU, but it works nice without it.Overall the sound quality is perfect, as long as you don't face any software issues it will be a nice purchase.I'm still waiting for the tech support, otherwise I have to return it.

Pure Gold with Pure Vinyl
I use this with Pure Vinyl Software from Channel D to record record albums. The 192/24 DAC produces stunning recordings of out of date records. Connected to a Mac Mini it generates Hi-Rez 24bit files of the individual tracks with metadata information that can then be integrated into iTunes if you record in AIFF format. If you like FLAC formatting then that is also available which can be played using other music software players that can decode that particular type of audio. I would not hesitate in recommending it if you are using it to record music.

Great look and feel, poor quality.
The design is great and the sound is too... when it works. I bought this for a very simple task, to run audio to my monitors. I am not doing any significant recording, just playback. The device itself looks great and has a nice solid feel to it. But the random increasing sound dropouts in playback have been frustrating. Reached out to Apogee and they gave a few suggestions, ran through all of them and narrowed it down to the device being defective. It was past 30 days so Adorama (3rd-party Amazon seller) would not refund and same with Apogee. Having to send it back for repairs now which is infuriating that the $600 sound card can't do its most basic task. Will never buy Apogee again. Adorama was not very courteous either.

Amazing Sound & Versatility
The Duet is awesome. It is a little big, but the sound quality is amazing. If you are looking for a way to improve sound quality to your headphones or speakers in a portable device, this is it! The versatility of the Duet is what sets it apart. You can connect your guitar, microphone, computer, or other devices and listen to the true quality of the sound.
