Superb, glorious and EPIC
Background Info:I am a new fan of Farscape, and as a new fan this purchase was essential. Prior to only a few weeks ago, I had only sparingly watched the show (when it was on air), but due to a Netflix suggestion, I binge watched the entire show in a matter of only 2 weeks. To be completely honest, this series is a fantastic scifi gem and I cannot believe that I did not give it a chance. The chemistry among the cast is electrifying and the plotline/story arc of the entire franchise is superb. I cannot recommend this show enough to anyone that enjoys unapologetic, entirely non-watered down science fiction entertainment. Show’s like Farscape are a rarity these days due to Networks branding television shows with the “science fiction” tag, but only rarely dip a toe in the scifi realm. Examples of these improper brandings include the shows “Supernatural” or the “The Walking Dead”, which may have a slight scifi element, but never truly embrace the genre as a whole. Farscape has never even remotely approached this territory, it’s got multiple realities, worm holes, cloning, exotic alien species, annihilation of entire species, DNA experiments, kings and queens, living ships, robots, pulse rifles.… and one of the most moving and touching romance stories to ever air between characters John Crichton and Aeryn Sun.However, unfortunately, the scifi network decided to pull the plug on the show after the fourth season was already filmed. The reasons for this were many, but did not include ratings, primarily it was due to the excessive amount of money that was being dumped into each and every episode. Yet because the fourth season had already been filmed, fans were left with one of the most iconic (and disturbing) cliffhangers ever. For this reason, one of the largest fan led campaigns ever created emerged that involved public protests, video campaigns, emails and the writing of letters that frequently landed the actors in league with the fans in interviews on primetime cable networks such as CNN. This type of exposure led several investors to contact the SciFi network with interests in funding a mini-series to wrap up plotlines. Thus you have the Peace Keeper Wars, a 30 million dollar, 3 hour epic. The Film Itself:Originally, after finishing the last episode of the franchise, I was so emotionally disturbed with the cliff hanger that I admittedly watched the Peace Keeper Wars in very low quality 10 part segments on YouTube. While this was emotionally satisfying and enjoyable, I desired to see the film in all of its glory. So that evening I purchased this dvd (which is blu-ray) and it was well worth it. Not only is the film brilliantly done, the enhanced visuals, and audio upgrade made the film bleed out my tv set in science fiction madness. This film was quite probably, one of the most satisfying conclusions to a phenomenal series that I had ever seen, which even managed to portray a nod to the scifi epic 2001: Space Odyssey. With that being said, there were a few very small concerns that are easily overlooked that I will mention. Primarily, the main complaint is that 2 of the main actors, D’Argo and Pilot, both have voices that sound slightly off from the original. However, I did some research, and this is due to framerate changes which slightly altered the original audio. I personally got over the voice difference within the first 10 minutes and didn’t look back.Additionally, the pacing of the film is mostly on point, however there is about a 15 minute section of the film that in my opinion was slightly rushed. However, the reason for this becomes obvious as the final 20 minutes of the film is… epic. Also, the bonus content seemed sparring, which includes a trailer and deleted scenes. However, the deleted scenes portion was over 15 minutes, and well worth this purchase alone. A majority of the “deleted scenes” are actually extended portions of the film that include enhanced background story of the film. Several of the scenes gave fans an idea of what some of the other characters were up to while main characters Crichton and Aeryn were out saving the galaxy.Do yourself a favor and purchase this film, and marvel in the wonders you will see.I was not paid to write this review, I just thoroughly enjoyed this mini-series.

Mini-series will play on any player, but bonus features require Region B PAL capability
I am a fan of Farscape, so for content this would be 5 stars. The blu-ray is an interesting mix. I live in the US. The TV movie/mini-series plays well on a region A player, and does not seem to be either region encoded or have issues with PAL. The bonus features (deleted scenes and trailer) would only play on my "hacked" region B NTSC/PAL player. The player output was shown to be 50hz, indicating a PAL signal (NTSC is 60hz). Picture and sound (on the main movie) were very good on both players, and played a 24p (the standard film frame rate). So, if you live in the States, you should either have a hacked blu-ray player, or just not care about the bonus features.

A good ending, but leaves open the possibility of more...
Although we haven't gotten an official Blu-ray release in the US, since this is region free, it works just as well.Farscape was cancelled by the SciFi network at the last minute, leaving the 4th season cliff hanger as the very end. Fortunately due to a massive letter writing campaign, SciFi coughed up the dough to make the Peacekeeper Wars. While this mini series did tie up most of the major loose ends, Farscape is still a rich universe with a lot of depth to it. Hopefully, Henson Productions will get to delve into it a bit more in the future... perhaps with a feature film.

Alright, so it is a rip to Blu-Ray from ...
Alright, so it is a rip to Blu-Ray from the US broadcast. So the quality is what you'd expect, but it isn't awful. It is on one Blu-Ray and it played on a PS3 without troubles. I am giving it five starts because, it is affordable and it works. Right now, looking at any Blu-ray releases for the US? Tough to find or they are quite pricey...or just nonexistent. Thank you for this, I've been wanting it to attach to my 15th anniversary editions and now I don't need to scour around anymore.

Rating the Bluray, not Farscape
I am not reviewing Farscape as many others have done. I am rating the quality of the Bluray. I would assume anyone buying this is a fan of Farscape like I am.If you base the Bluray just on the quality of the movie, this is a great buy. I am only keeping this as the Quality of the movie is just as good as any other I have seen. But everything else makes me question the legitimacy of this copy. If this is a legit copy, it is borderline legit. Almost feels like a bad copy or a pirate copy. The case and cover are ok, but just seem off. Not 100% match like other Bluray movies. Even if the movie is good, everything else on the disc is bad. Menu is fine and if you select the whole movie or either of the 2 parts to watch, it plays fine. All the extras that are to be included, when you select them, you go to a blank screen with the only way out is hitting the menu button.I always question buying movies on Amazon as I have heard many people have issues with the movies. I wanted this movie and only bought it as it is very hard to find. Since the quality of the movie is good, I am keeping this, but overall I do not feel this is worth the $30 paid. (this is a 3-4 hour movie, made for tv in 2 parts). One last note, I though I saw a copy once that did not have the credits between the 2 parts, this version is not that version. If you play whole movie, there are credits in the middle.

Great Ending to a Great Sci-Fi Series.
The Peacekeeper War was intended to wrap up the storyline left hanging from Season 4 of Farscape. Though I wish they stretched it out just a tad longer, much of the story lines resolved were already dragged out and about throughout the rest of the series. I am just glad that they wrapped things up - and I think they did so in a nice way, as well as you can for a beloved series.I am glad I "discovered" Farscape, even if it was decades after it aired. It was quirky, funny, sad, and really had me emotionally invested in the characters - all of them from good guys, to bad guys, and to those in between.I am unbelievably irked that it was so hard to watch Season 3 online via streaming or this one, for that matter. But, I found a way and was right and ready for this finale. If you have not seen this "season," you need to pick up a copy and be done with it. It is the closure you need.

Not as good as the DVD version, DO NOT BUY!
I love all things Farscape and own the original series 1-4 on DVD and blu-ray, as well as The Peacekeeper Wars on DVD. I jumped at the chance to buy The Peacekeeper Wars on blu-ray but sadly this release has been very poorly done. Firstly the case is not the typical blu-ray case, it's a thin case made of cheap plastic that is overly flexible. The paper sleeve is only printed on one side so that when you open the case you are greeted to a plain white interior. I would have forgiven all of this if the disc actually contained a decent HD version of The Peacekeeper Wars, but unfortunately this is just a poorly done upscale of the existing DVD release. The existing DVD version actually has a sharper image with less digital noise, also the DVD version has a 5.1 soundtrack vs the stereo one presented here.In short if you own the DVD, you already have a better version of this, and if you don't own the DVD buy that one, you will be happier.

Buy the original DVD if you can and stick to it.
Only buy this if you can't get your hands on the DVD or don't really care that much about sound and/or pic quality. This has been produced by a different company to the regular series Blu-rays and it REALLY shows.Sound - surround sound only (DVD had 5.1)Picture - you can always tell a good Blu-ray by it's on screen credits - if they are crisp then the rest of the BR will be. If they aren't then you (at best) have bought an upscale. This is not even a good upscale as it also suffers from picture 'fidget' where parts of the image tend to jump and flicker.Average story line as well caused by the sci-fi channel cancelling what should have been another series and this is the makers trying to make a valiant effort to try and tie up the lose ends. Some good performances but also don't buy this as a taster to the series!

Dont get this rip off version
I thought getting this would be an amazing , I hoped it would be the perfect end to my perfect blu ray box set but I was wrong, the quality is very bad, it is worse somehow then the dvd version I have and the dvd also has a nice 5.1 sound selection where this is only stereo. I feel ripped off by this and wish i could return it however I have already opened it now. As a Farscape fan I feel let down by who ever made the blu ray. either Go Entertain or Henson.. Avoid if you get and either get the german version or stick to the dvd's.

Enjoyable
I only watched a few episodes of Farscape when it was on tv and happened to come across this gem.I just found this thoroughly enjoyable. The actors make this a good old fashioned sci-fi joyride.Claudia black is so good. It's not big budget and sometimes it shows but that doesn't matter. It was broadcast as a 2 part mini series and the disc allows you to play one at a time or as a whole. If you 'play all' on the episodes, they are still separate episodes with end credits and then goes straight into part 2.Although it has been put onto blu ray the picture quality is the same as the dvd version.

Atrocious video upsampling & audio.
The original series upsampling was done with care and attention, and it was the best that could be done with the available source materials, but this is actually _worse_ than the previous DVD set being fed through a modern player's own upsampling routines. The opening sequence, and SFX spectacular, is so soft it looks like a VHS copy, and what ought to be crisp white titles blur and shimmer all over the place; from there on it's all downhill. Avoid.
