Tastes like chocolate milk or a chocolate milkshake, hate that it contains Stevia
I love Carnation Instant Breakfast, the rich milk chocolate flavor tastes like an indulgent glass of ice cold chocolate milk. Definitely refrigerate it prior to drinking, you don't want to drink it warm as it tastes really gross (unfortunately yes I was stupid enough to try drinking it warm).I ended up purchasing Carnation Instant Breakfast after a years long search for something to replace Ensure. Ensure changed their ingredients a few years back and I'm now allergic to it. I don't eat as healthy as I should due to illnesses so I feel good about adding a little nutrition to my diet in the form of this chocolate shake.Once I started drinking Carnation Instant Breakfast I found other uses for it in my life. I now use Carnation Instant Breakfast to coat my stomach, similar to how I used to drink regular milk. It also gets rid of heartburn. I've found it invaluable for when I need to take pills but I do not feel like eating a full meal as well.Ingredient list: Water; Corn Syrup; Sugar; Milk Protein Concentrate; Less than 2% of: Vegetable Oil (Canola Oil, High Oleic Sunflower Oil, and Corn Oil); Cocoa processed with Alkali; Vitamins and Minerals; Soy Protein Isolate; Cellulose Gel; Cellulose Gum; Salt; Soy Lecithin; Carrageenan; Purified Stevia Leaf Extract (Sweetener); Natural Flavors; and Artificial Flavors.Vitamins and Mineral list: Potassium Citrate; Magnesium Phosphate; Potassium Chloride; Calcium Carbonate; Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C); Choline Bitartartrate; Calcium Phosphate; DL-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E); Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C); Ferric Pyrophosphate (Iron); Zinc Sulfate; Niacinamide; Calcium Pantothenate; Manganese Sulfate; Copper Sulfate; Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6); Thiamine Hydrochloride; Beta Carotene; Vitamin A Palmitate; Riboflavin; Folic Acid; Biotin; Potassium Iodide; Vitamin K1; Vitamin D3; and Vitamin B12. Carnation Instant Breakfast is suitable for people who are lactose intolerant (like myself) UNLESS you have Galactosemia, then they advise avoiding this product. The allergy warnings for the beverage are that it contains both milk and soy based ingredients. Carnation Instant Breakfast is Kosher.Nutrition facts: 4 grams Total Fat; 1 gram Saturated Fat; 0 grams Trans Fat; 10 milligrams Cholesterol; 170 milligrams Sodium; 41 grams Total Carbohydrates; 0 grams Dietary Fiber; 15 grams Total Sugar; 15 grams Added Sugar; 10 grams Protein; 10 micro-grams Vitamin D; 300 milligrams Calcium; 3.6 milligrams Iron; 470 milligrams Potassium; 20% Vitamin A; 100% Vitamin C; 35% Vitamin E; 35% Vitamin K; 25% Thiamin; 40% Riboflavin; 20% Niacin; 25% Vitamin B5; 85 micro-grams Folate (Folic Acid); 45% Vitamin B12; 25% Biotin; 25% Pantothenic Acid; 25% Phosphorus; 25% Iodine; 30% Magnesium; 20% Zinc; 15% Selenium; 20% Copper; 25% Manganese; 15% Chromium; 15% Molybdenum; 15% Chloride; and 10% Choline. Why am I giving Carnation Instant Breakfast 4 out of 5 stars? Because I have IBS and I wish they would remove the Stevia. It leaves me running to the bathroom almost immediately after drinking this product which is why I can only drink it at home and it's inconvenient to take out in public.Other than the effects of the Stevia, this is a perfect drink!

Cheaper than Go and Grow toddler pre-mixed bottles
I grew up on Carnation Instant breakfast packets mixed with milk, which may be slightly healthier than the pre-mixed version, but my child is not quite ready for breakfast before we leave in the a.m. These are a more instant, instant breakfast. I do pour it into a toddler cup to avoid spills, and load it into her car seat cup holder before starting our commute. Started using it as soon as she started liking chocolate, at about 2 years old.Have tried mixing my own with the dry packets and whole milk, but that's generally too cold (as milk was refrigerated) and these bottles are room temp. Probably could use Organic Valley milk boxes at room temp, but pre-mixed would be awfully close or maybe even cheaper in price, plus the pre-mixed bottles are more efficient in the a.m.Thought about Go and Grow toddler formula, but they use artificial sweeteners, and the nutrition labels aren't a lot different from the Carnation version, which seems to run less expensive. I believe protein content was higher in Carnation, as well.At any rate, it's our instant breakfast of choice for the a.m. commute on weekdays, and half a bottle occasionally makes its way onto the table next to a more traditional breakfast option on weekends.

Great Taste but Price RAISED!
These taste amazing. I was going to keep ordering them weekly, but the price went up from $19 to $25! These are LITTLE 8oz bottles...You had my business, but you lost it by raising the price. The powder form is $8 for 25 servings so I guess I'll switch to that... 5 stars other than that

Breakfast convenience! And its yummy
I like these because they're easy and convenient for my busy lifestyle. I'm usually rushing out the door in the morning or trying to get breakfast in while I'm doing my makeup. They taste great! Smooth rich flavor. They don't have that metal canned taste because they come in a plastic bottle. The protein isn't noticeable like some drinks. It's not grainy or powdery. I like them. I've been buying them for the past year.

These have been amazing and they don't taste too chalky (like Boost)
I am a breastfeeding mom and was looking for something beneficial but also quick to consume in the middle of the night/early morning as I am up frequently with baby! These have been amazing and they don't taste too chalky (like Boost). They're very addicting and I have to limit myself! I've tried finding them cheaper in store but as of 10/06/2017 - I only receive the 5% S&S discount and it is still the cheaper price!

Value purchase, equivalent of brand name to help my kids gain weight
I've been stacking up on this purchases on subscribe and save for as long as I can remember.I originally picked this as having equivalent calories to the brand name ones, to help my kids gain weight. This product has become a staple in our home over the years, and we would buy five, sometimes 10, sometimes even 20 cases of these depending on the changing allowed amount on subscribe and save items. The taste is really equivalent to the brand name also. Although our pediatrician would say that any other brand other than the hospital recommended brand is not good enough for our kids, and of course we believe them for the first few kids, over the years, we find that is not true at all!So if you are able to find an equivalent brand that is much less expensive for product that you use very often, I would really recommend trying this 24 count Breakfast Essentials brand. The shelf staple is really good also, and this brand is actually Nestle, just not as popularly advertise as the kids drink. Here's a tip: actually really shake it well before opening it, or else it will be diluted really funny. Also, after opening, we refrigerate the leftover, but for some reasons, the kids only prefer newly opened bottles. Most of the time they would finish in one sitting, and sometimes ask for another, so for some reasons, this brand doesn't work very well but refrigeration probably because of taste. I mean, it tastes okay to me refrigerated, but apparently, my kids don't prefer that.
