Built well and works great. The batteries don't have the life of canon ones but i didn't really expect them to. The grip feels good and i am very happy with the purchase.

Batteries not so great but grip is awesome

I love it! Does exactly what I need. Doubles you battery life for longer photo sessions. It came with 2 batteries as well. But even it didn't it comes with an adapter for using regular double A batteries. Also it has a shutter button built onto it on the side so you can turn the camera vertical.

It fits,but the quality of this grip is very cheap!!! Compared to my other canon grip. The screw down wheel wobbles a little and the grip doesn't seat all the way. If I could afford a conon one I would return this one.

The Vivitar battery grip feels sturdy and appears well made. It fits the 7D well and I had high hopes after attaching it. I quickly realized that it is cheaply made and requires some extra attention. The battery door has no spring to make the door open when the latch is pressed. And neither battery will eject when the battery release latch is pushed. It requires the user to set the camera down and use both hands and a small tool to release each battery. Very inconvenient. It also arrived with two dead batteries that would not keep a charge for more than 24 hours. Because these batteries are Lithium Ion, Amazon will not accept them as a return being a defective battery. They made it right by refunding my money, but it was a hassle and not worth the effort. Spend $40 more and get the actual Canon 7D Battery Grip.

Grip is awesome but the batteries aren't worth anything. They die after 30 minutes of use.
