The pump we had before this one was a joke! We went on the cheap side and realized what a bad idea that was. We had to spend more to get a better quality one and quieter. We have this on the top of our roof to provide water for our entire house.

So far it works good. Provides an ample water supply to a 5 bedroom house. It pushes the water 150 feet to the house.Not cheap.

I did not buy this from Amazon, so I'm obviously a little suspect. That said, this thing is a gem. I live in a gated community abroad where water pressure to our house varies based on watering of extensive external landscaping and gets worse in our extended dry season. I have the pressure set to about 48psi (3.3 bar) constant pressure with a -5psi trigger level that's adjustable. If water use is light in our house and around us, it doesn't engage at all (so, "normal" external water pressure to our house is between 43 and 48 psi). If one's problem is that it engages too often (as one comment notes), as in a slightly leaky toilet, you can set the trigger lower or engage a mode that calls a temporary time out if small drops occur slowly at the same interval five times (and an alarm code lets you know you probably have a leak somewhere). There are other neat programming tricks. It is also very quiet, though I imagine that could be different if it were mounted on an interior wall (= sounding board), as some pictures seem to show. Power usage is very light, as the variable voltage/frequency control doesn't create the big inductive surge of most on/off electric motors (refrigerators, air conditioners, pump-and-pressure-tank systems, etc.). Rated output of 20+ gpm at something around 800W power consumption, suggests we rarely, if ever, get to 150W. I can run it and two large refrigerators and the rest of the house with a 2.5kw generator, one reason I bought it (water here goes shortly after the power goes, so I've incorporated a 2,000 gallon underground cistern into the installation.)

The best and quietest residential in-garage booster pump you'll find. I had mine professionally installed along with a whole-house Ecowater filter/softener/refiner system and an under-sink RO drinking water system. We had water pressure that fluctuated from 32-45 PSI and I configured this pump for 60 PSI and it stays there constantly. It's small, quiet, doesn't vibrate, and easy to hook up except you need to be VERY CAREFUL putting the input/output lines into the pump's brass fittings. If you tighten them as you would think necessary, the brass female couplings will crack. A master plumber hooked mine up and this happened to him. The company immediately authorized a new replacement pump as this is a known problem that will be resolved with foolproof fittings in the future that can't be overtightened. Having the water pressure I want with this pump has been wonderful, and I would highly recommend it. If there is anything about it that bothers me a little bit, it's that it kicks on whenever the least amount of water is used in the house. Unlike other booster pumps, it does not have a holding tank so this action is necessary. But actually, this is a good thing, but just difficult to get used to it turning on and off so much.
